More background info on the book: TW!! MENTION OF: HOMOPHOBIA AND TRANSPHOBIA YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED (so pls dont attack me TwT) scroll down a lil' bit Ok, so the book that im writing AND MAYBE putting on Scratch is called, 'A Bit of Weird Love.' The main character is an 8th grader named Blu, with their deadname being Elizabeth. Their labels are demiboy, asexual, and panromantic, and his pronouns are he/they. Blu is constantly teased for being queer and for his name change. People sometimes call them 'Blu-lizabeth' as a nickname to tease him. Blu meets another 8th grader named Onyx, with xeir deadname being Maxsim. Xeir labels are genderqueer, demirose, and uranic, and xeir pronouns are xey/xem. Xey aren't as open as Blu, but xey are out to most staff. The main plot of the book is that Blu and Onyx start having feelings for each other (hence the title), and start dating. KEEP IN MIND: Onyx is demirose, so it took xem more time to start developing feelings for Blu, because an emotional bond needed to be formed (foreshadowing HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEEE) So now they need to keep their relationship a secret or else both of their parents would murder them.
a lil' snippet of da book; Mrs. Caelum looks at us as we come in about 30 seconds before the bell is going to ring. "Lucky," she mutters as the bell rang and we take our seats. Luckily, the only seats available were right next to each other. I look out the window and stare as Mrs. Caelum rambles on about algebra. I never really cared about school. My mom lectured me for half an hour straight in 6th grade when she saw that I had an F in English, but she stopped trying after that. "ELIZEBETH! WHAT IS THE ANSWER?!" I look up suddenly. "Huh? Oh, I don't know. Also, it's Blu, not Elizabeth." Mrs. Caelum crosses her arms. "This won't slide in high school-" I roll my eyes. "Yeah, every single teacher says that." Mrs. Caelum sighs. "Problem child… Also, the attendance says 'Elizabeth' not 'Blu' or whatever, so you will be called Elizabeth in this classroom." A kid in the front yells out, "OR BLU-LIZABETH!!" I see Mrs. Caelum chuckle at that comment. Then, I see Onyx look at Mrs. Caelum right in the eye. "Hey, aren't teachers supposed to STOP teasing?" Mrs. Caelum looks at xem in shock. "You little- nevermind… Just PAY ATTENTION ELIZABETH," she says. "Whatever," I reply.
