They were built in 1944 for the Canada, Montana & Ohio Railroad Company, and still operate to this day in heavy freight service. At an astonishing 685 tonnes, producing a whopping 272,000 lbf of tractive effort with 34.5"x30" cylinders, a boiler pressure of 310 PSI, and a driver diameter of 69", these would - if built - be the strongest and heaviest steam locomotives in the world.
