☆ Below is a survey of 15 questions that relate to voice acting. It’d be appreciated if you remixed this project with your answers! If there’s questions you don’t want to answer, that’s fine! ☆ ❀ Q - (Not part of the survey) Would you like your answers to be credited (if so, to what username?) or would you like to remain anonymous? ❀ A - Yea @Bala-The-Kitty ❀ Q - How long have you been voice acting? ❀ A - About a year now ❀ Q - How do you most frequently find a series to audition for? ❀ A - I usually search "Open voice auditions" or find them through friends ❀ Q - What makes you choose to click a casting call? ❀ A - I usually will audition for anything, but I will be more willing if 1. It was posted recently, 2. it is a nice plot, 3. I feel like I can accurately represent a character ❀ Q - After viewing a casting call, what makes you decide whether or not you want to audition for it? ❀ A - Already explained that lol-- ❀ Q - What is something (or multiple things) that will make you immediately choose not to audition for something? ❀ A - 1. I have a reason that I do not like the host, 2. It was posted over a year ago, 3. I feel like I cannot represent a character, 4. It contains swears AT ALL ❀ Q - What component(s) make a casting call (not someone’s audition) high quality? ❀ A - The plot, characters, creators style, being credited if casted ❀ Q - What do you like to know about a series you’re considering auditioning for? ❀ A - 1. Who the creator is, 2. Traits about the characters to understand the pitch tone and vocal fry needed ❀ Q - Do you like to have a visual of the characters? ❀ A - Yea, the physical design often helps with how I would make the caracter sound, like if there is a bright pink character and a dark purple character who are the exact same but with different designs, the pink one would most likely have a higher voice. ❀ Q - What is important to include in a character’s voice description? ❀ A - Pitch, vocal fry (Yes or no), smoother or rougher voice, the voice more in the front or in the back (Example if you push the button) ❀ Q - What’s your favorite kind of character to voice act or audition for? ❀ A - I really prefer characters that contradict my personality over ones who match me, so I would have more fun doing a bouncy, ball of energy character rather then a depressed character or parent friend like me. ❀ Q - What should a casting call include? ❀ A - If there is an audition due date, if there are any preferences for who is casted, a little about each character, a short description of the scene the audition lines are for ❀ Q - What do you want to know about the character(s) you’re auditioning for? ❀ A - A voice claim (Eg: Archery - V from murder drones), their personality, a brief backstory ❀ Q - Is it important for a casting call to be high quality and why or why not? ❀ A - Yes and no. The quality of the plot should always be over the quality of the casting call, as its most peoples first time, but if they have already done one before quality does matter. It has to be high enough quality people understand how to audition, what the story is briefly about, and what characters there are. ❀ Q - What is the best way for a series creator to give you lines you need to record? ❀ A - I personally find it easiest to have them on a slide in the project, but the description also works. Just NEVER put it in the notes + credits. ❀ Q - What would you want the creator of a series to know about when it comes to VAs? ❀ A - I would say their normal voice, the things they can offer with their voice (Such as a hissy tone or vocal fry can be hard for some people) ☆ That’s all the questions, thank you so much for doing this survey! ☆
