I've decided... I'm going to learn Chinese! I need help tho, because if there's one thing I've learned after starting Spanish immersion is that DUOLINGO IS NO HELP. If anyone here has needed to learn Chinese solo, it would be great if you could please offer some tips on what tools I can use. I don't really care that much what I use, as long as it works. I feel like more gamified approaches (such as Duolingo) just don't stick. Here's what I'm looking for: ~ preferably on the web ~ srs tools (spaced repetition system) ~ tools for learning the characters (I already know some pinyin) ~ tools for learning vocab My current system that I've planned is to use flashcards (like a quizlet type thing, except for Chinese vocab), then focus on new input and new vocab, then the rest of the time for practicing reading People who are/have learned Chinese solo and not picked it up natively or in the country: it would be really great if you could offer some good tools that have worked for you. If you've learned Chinese in the country or it's your native language: I made a Chinese project for my friend iseul who knows Chinese to give me feedback on my alt @Lilac_Vocals, if you want to go there and give me feedback or any tips on anything else I would be eternally grateful :) I know I'm asking for a lot, but I really want to take this seriously. I just don't have the right tools to do that. If you have any info or tips at all, feel free to say them in the comments (or don't that's fine too :P) Thank you so much!! @Lilac_Vocals (my alt) has a proj of 3-months-younger me pronouncing some Chinese words, I know a bit of pinyin. if you want to go there to give feedback, you can. any feedback or tips would be really helpful. tysm! <33
