Comic Page Was Made During Spring Break, Everything Else Was Made Before... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Antonio’s Othermind Maggie The arena was packed to the brim with more dragons than last time, with more SkyWings filling in the rows. Stormbringer must have recruited them, Maggie thought, realizing the more danger Antonio's friends could be in now. Maggie then spotted Stormbringer in his throne with his twisted crown on. Stormbringer spotted her staring at him, so she shot a long hatred look back at him, attempting to intimidate him. He paid no mind to it and completely ignored it. “All dragons from the Night and Sky Kingdom… my loyal subjects!” Stormbringer announced. “As you have known, I have k#lled the most famous soldier in the world and one of those students at that stupid school”. Stormbringer spat at the word “stupid” and Maggie had a flashback of Handsome getting st@bbed by a spear and the crack of Scar’s neck as Stormbringer k#lled him while Maggie was trapped by guards, watching in agonizing h@rror. “But that’s not the only student I k#lled so far. My scouts also caught and eliminated a group of SandWings at Hudson Bay.” Maggie gasped at the news and thought, S’more can’t be de@d; I thought he was gathering allies at Eagle’s Crossing, unless he failed. Maggie gulped at that last statement and was about to cry until Stormbringer said: “And now the moment you have all been waiting for! Our first contestant today is one of the new prisoners… Antonio of the NightWings!” Strange, she thought, he couldn’t have healed that fast. Antonio’s next step proved her wrong as he stepped into the light and she could spot every detail of him now. He was covered in scratches and claw marks and he still had the giant w in his tail where Fierceclaws had st him in his previous fight. Maggie couldn’t get the scene out of her mind of bl@ flying from his tail and the horrible crack of Fierceclaw’s blow to the nose. But there was something different about him, and she noticed that his eyes were blank instead of the trustworthy blue that cheered her up all the time. “Oh, Antonio, what did you do?” Maggie asked, about to touch his face. “I gave him the antidote, or the breath of evil as you like to call it.” Antonio said in a different but cold voice. “I knew Antonio would never h you.” “How?” she asked, trying not to cry, resulting in a voice crack. “Oh, I simply slipped it into his food.” the voice said out of Antonio’s mouth, sending chills along Maggie’s spine. “It was tough and I would have poisoned him but big old Stormbringer wouldn’t like a de NightWing before the arena started.” “And now our second contestant is another new prisoner who escaped for a week but recaptured by my loyal guards…” Stormbringer paused, tapping his chin, pretending to search for her name. “Maggie of the CrystalWings!” Cheers erupted and Maggie realized that they never really seen a CrystalWing fight because their tribe was new to the Distant Kingdoms. She also wondered if there was a third contestant so she wouldn’t have to fight Antonio but Stormbringer confirmed it. “Let’s see what will happen when a friend fights a friend!” Stormbringer announced, crossing his fingers together. Antonio was the first to strike. His scratch to Maggie’s face sent Maggie to lose balance and she tumbled onto the sandy floor of the arena. She was just in time to roll out of the way as the second blow hit the ground right beside her, missing her face by centimeters and sending sand to fly in the air, stinging the fresh w. She got up quickly to avoid any more ground blows and immediately duck as the third blow hit just above her head, feeling the wind pass by her. “Antonio, this isn’t you,” Maggie tried. “You’re being mind controlled and you know it.” “He can hear you but he can’t control himself when I’m controlling him.” the cold voice coming out of Antonio commented. Or I could try to free him, Maggie thought. “Antonio, remember the time that I gave you the wrong kiwi and your breath smelled like vultures for a week?” Antonio turned his head sideways. “What?” he said, confused. I got to try something more emotional. “Or when you first met me, I still wasn’t sure if you were a real NightWing or just a gray CrystalWing.” Maggie hoped that the comment worked but she got no reaction from Antonio as he still stood with the blank eyes. “You know that it won’t work you pathetic dragon,” the othermind said out of Antonio, his white eyes staring at her. “I control him.” “Less talking, more vi!” a brownish SkyWing shouted from the crowd.
Maggie turned around to see where it came from and knew it was a mistake as Antonio threw a perfect punch to the nose, sending bl@@d flying into the air. She landed on the ground with a THOMP as sand flew from the impact. bl@@d dripped out of Maggie’s nose as she tried to get up but Antonio kicked her hard back to the ground, making Maggie twist her leg a little. Maggie, stuck on the ground, was helpless for the next move. Antonio–or whatever was controlling him– came over and put his claws up. More coming soon...
