FOREWORD Just want to say I harbor no ill will to doom lord about using poster, but I am very happy to have the character back, because I enjoyed how evil asterism was, and poster’s og (and current, I suppose) personality is just asterism if she had no actual power and had to run around being mean to people to satisfy her craving for evildoing. POSTER RETCON NOTES/SUMMARY Poster is one of the many stepping stones in the exaltation process of the harvest’s own cogitarre. As a sort of morbid practice for the final product of exaltation, the creature that is now known as anathema, cogitarre uplifted many inanimate objects to sentience, one of which being a propaganda poster of asterism. Nobody in or out of the harvest knew quite where it originated, though asterism herself WAS quite the egomaniac…whatever its origin, cogitarre found it fitting enough to use as a test subject, and granted it [COGNITION], basing its personality on asterism. As soon as asterism discovered this, she threw a mighty fit at cogitarre creating “insulting and satirical mockeries of my stellar form” and ordered them to cast it down to “some gross boring nowhere town in the desert where it will probably trip into a ceruleum puddle and expire painfully” Poster, in fact, did not do that. Operating both on her basal sense of “what a poster should do” and also “I’m the best thing ever because I’m asterism and everyone should see how cool I am” decided affixing herself to a wall via some stolen nails would be a good idea. This is also where a small yellow creature named Rictus lived for a majority of his life. Luckily for poster, she arrived many years before he was created, so she got in on the ground floor. She began influencing him over time, growing stronger by absorbing his thoughts and emotions. Many years later, with rictus approaching twenty-five, war looming on the horizon, and the duke’s reign chafing the people of the Crownbreakers, poster made on last push, influencing rictus, now nearly starving due to the lack of joy, to absorb the emotions and thoughts of everyone in town. This didn’t go well for rictus. His body, his very CORE was made to absorb positive emotions. Absorbing every emotion, even the negative, severely damaged his mind, and put major stress on his core. This weakness allowed poster to enter his mind directly, and begin speaking to him. Rictus, who had long idolized the poster and the figures on it, went along with no problem, believing things were finally looking up for him. He, at poster’s prompting, took on the name Magwitch (rumored by some to be the name of a forgotten member of the harvest) and began a spree of terror throughout the land, even piloting a large puppet, created by the revenant’s resident puppet-smith, puppetro, and continued to be evil for a little less than a year (starting just after the duke’s deposition) Please insert all of OLW up to Magwitch faking his own demise here Upon Magwitch escaping aurous, reclaiming poster from Specca, and immediately getting himself into a battle with anathema, poster was done. Her thrall had long served his purpose, and she was ready. She disconnected herself from magwitch’s damaged mind, and took on a form of her own, mimicking asterism (being, as she was, essentially an origami copy of asterism, driven even more mad by knowing she’s not the real asterism and being stuck to a wall for almost a century). She fled magwitch, now reverting to rictus again, and took up residence near lobster town, knowing that the herald is the loosest and most forgiving leader. She remained there for a while, before hearing of asterism’s revival at the hands of also asterism but maybe kind of anathema. All poster had was hearsay, and it was a pretty confusing turn of events. Poster rushed to the foundry- only the learn that asterism had gone to the coral castle to battle all of Pendia. She then rushed to the coral castle- only to learn that asterism had been reduced to a disco ball and particularly altruistic glitter. Dejected, poster remained in tide territory, only to learn of the ball. She entered and snuck around, attempting to find any weak points- only for the ball to explode, almost burning her “alive”. She managed to escape and recover, but is extremely weakened, and is now seeking a new host to boost her back up. Perhaps her old vessel could help her. He always has been quite forgiving…
@rainraven and @primordial667 for OLW. @Spindeler11 for anathema, asterism, and cogitarre. @Doomlord305 for some stuff TLDR; Asterism 2 electric boogaloo but crazier
