So this game wasn't going to work out well in Scratch anyways. We are making it in Pokémon Essentials instead. Warning though; it will have a darker story line than the original. Not overly dark, with blood and guns and stuff, but, like, Sun and Moon level of darkness. As you can see, We meant it wasn't gonna work well by "IT WAS NOT GONNA WORK WELL AT ALL." You can tell by the text. The text however serves to blur the text to make it more teaser-y. :) So yes, this is a teaser to the climax of the game, for the 20 or so people who actually look at some of our projects. XD
Credit to powercon5 for the text engine, though we are no longer going to use it. ===================================================== WHY YOU SHOULD NOT MAKE A POKéMON GAME IN SCRATCH? ===================================================== First off, Pokémon games use a LOT of data and things like that. A simple programming language like Scratch would not be able to handle a project of such an immense size. Second of all, there is a much better alternative; a program called Pokémon Essentials. It is downloadable and has tools needed to make a Pokémon game (if I remember correctly, the programming language it uses is Ruby). However, to use it, you must have knowledge of RMXP (RPG Maker XP), as any game made in Pokémon Essentials is basically a heavily modified game made in RMXP. RMXP does cost money to buy, but in the long run, it is worth it; as long as you don't make it in a smaller, less-advanced programming language like Scratch. Happy Pokémon game making. [You should still be able to make smaller Pokémon-related things like battle engines and minigames without actually lagging Scratch or possibly crashing it]
