Aculon's direct assault of the Valenian capital is a blunder. Directly attacking a city is a horrific idea. Estimated casualties at 5,000 troops at the gates of their capital Valenia's defense is solid, and would be devastating to the exposed Aculonian army. Chariots would also deal significant casualties to the encamped enemy, if not totally annihilating them. Firing upon the chariots wouldn't really work, because from what I've gathered it's a raiding force. A clash of phalanxes would be catastrophic for both sides. Again, directly assaulting a fortified city, so long as it has any garrison at all, is a terrible idea. At this point each side would be battered and substantially weakened, but the Aculonian army is on the verge of collapse due to their costly assaults and brutal phalanx clashes.
Ragea, having seen Aculon's horrible military tactics, has renounced their support in this conflict.
