Chapter 5-A Goal is a Promise we make to ourselves In Exvocarous, a group of protestors were at a large building, and they were getting a tad bit violent. One of them tried to attack the building, but he suddenly found himself in a trash can. Another protester has been hanging by his undergarments on a street light. One by one, each protestor was warped to a location not too far from here, and each of them was in an embarrassing situation. At the centre, there was a man dressed in red from top to bottom, and he just simply stated in a stern voice, “It is 11:31 at night, there are people asleep in that apartment building, myself included”. In the morning, on the news, the newsperson stated that last night, someone dressed in red from top to bottom broke a rather violent protest at the Fighter’s Reprise, an apartment building in Exvocarous noted for housing athletes. Apparently, the protesters’ goal was to have a rather popular and successful, if not publicly controversial,celebrity get evicted. A man in red broke up the fight, using what looks like a rather precise form of Astrokinesis, or spatial manipulation, now on to the weather report…” “Huh, usually Exhaus breaks up these sorts of things…” Irat remarked. “Sounds like The Beckoning Beacon if you ask me.” Snipe said sleepily. In the Eye, some people adopt an Alias, or a title or nickname that you go by in order to build a public image. You are not allowed to make your own Alias, those are created by the public: Irat used to be the Faint Gale, as he was widely known for his ridiculous sense of hearing and balance. But now Irat is known as the Half Blind Assassin, which is not wrong, as Irat handles the ARC missions with some form of precision, despite his setbacks. Snipe is known as the Chronic Guard, and Mel has yet to be given an Alias. Now, according to Snipe, the Beckoning Beacon is a bit of an urban legend, as rumour has it that a man dressed in red from top to bottom humiliated violent protesters, and that he has been rumoured to be able to manipulate space. Just then, Mel walks in with a Tube(Kinda like Mail), and states that they have a Recon mission: Investigate the Beckoning Beacon. Let’s first go over what ARC does: Assistance, things like volunteer work, and community service. Recon: Solves mysteries, and explores the Blind, Contain, deals with Lapses and the Marked(Criminals). Now then! Mel first investigates the Fighter’s Reprise, given how she is an active athlete, and even shows her Certificate of Physical Verification, and asks the receptionist(Who is named Dolly), “Do you house someone who likes to dress in red?” “Oh! You must be talking about Terrence! He sleeps in room 105, just upstairs! Do you need to talk to him?” Dolly asks Mel. “Oh no need, thank you for your time.” Mel headed on back to Bionecrotropolis, “The time difference really throws me off”, and relayed the info to Irat and Snipe in the Flat Line, as Irat is there on an Assistance mission, and Snipe is there to make sure Irat does not get “Distracted”. After Irat finished his mission, Irat states, “I know you are stalking us, I can hear you moving silently through the air.” A man dressed in red from top to bottom, that being, a red fedora, and a red trench coat. He was 6'3", had a bit of a muscular build, healthy white skin. Short blonde hair with a crimson streak; piercing crimson eyes. “How impressive, I should have known, since you are the Half Blind Assassin…” The man remarked. “I am Terrence Marker, but I prefer Target. Pleasure to meet you, ReDirector Annotying, Dr.Reiner, and Ms.Runner.” The man introduced himself. Mel’s mouth dropped open. “The Target?! The 7 time Eye champion at any precision sport WITHOUT Gift interference?!” Mel was starting to get a little bit excited. Target was pretty brief: He wanted to join ARC. Irat asked Mel and Snipe to excuse themselves, and now, we have a bit of a split party situation. In the Flat Line, there were men trying to flirt with Mel, but Snipe simply made eye contact with them, and made them pass out. “How in the name of the Shepherd of Rest did you do that?!” Mel asked a rather obvious question, and Snipe said it was his Chemical Overhaul. “But I cannot manipulate the neurotransmitters to where the target does a self detrimental action, also I can do this through a live video feed” all while Mel’s mouth dropped open, and she apologized for making fun of Snipe’s Gift. Irat and Target walk back in, and Irat announces the arrival of rank 3:Terrence Avery Marker, or Target. But, their family is not quite finished yet….
