Daft Punk - Music Player (Daft Punk Essentials)_______ [A collection of some of Daft Punk's finest works of art] History of Daft Punk_____________________________ 1987 - 1996: Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo met at school in Paris, with their humble beginnings as the guitar-based band 'Darlin'. A review from Melody Maker called their music "a daft punky thrash," which, ironically, is how the new name got inspired. They soon officially used the name Daft Punk, and embraced Techno and Electronic to create some of their singles, such as "The New Wave" and "Da Funk," the latter becoming very popular, only boosting their success even further. 1997 - 2000: The Homework Era, named after their debut album "Homework," which included hits like "Around The World" and "Revolution 909," which established them as leaders in the French house movement. 2001 - 2004: Daft Punk released "Discovery" which is one of their best albums, consisting of several hit songs such as "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger," "One More Time," "Veridis Quo," and "Digital Love."
