Africa has gold and salt, and lots of other things. The Americas have chocolate and tobacco, and other things as well. But the best place to go if you want prosperity, and wealth, and fame, is Asia. Not only are their treasures delicious--nutmeg and ginger are the best spices and black pepper is essentially gold--but they're also beautiful and they symbolize power and glory. In fact, if you let me go to Asia, there's a specific treasure I would like to get. This one comes from China. China is an amazing place, and this resource that I want is their best-kept secret, silk. China has kept silk a secret for over 3,000 years. If we trade with them, then we can also be let in on their secret. If we do this, then we might gain access to some of their other goods: tea and porcelain, to name a few. We might also gain access to their treasure trove of knowledge--which no other country has-- of science, agriculture, and medicine. Silk is the epitome of fashion. It is sleek and shiny and very luxurious, but also comfortable. It is soft and you will be able to breathe better in it than in things like leather and rougher fabrics. This trip will mostly be about competition. If we can get the silk first, then we will not only be the fashion capital of the world, but we will be the most comfortable of anyone and we will gain access to China's other goods. I know that China is very far away and that the Chinese are selective about who they trade with. But if we don't try, we will never know the luxuries of silk and the other treasures of China. Isn't the reward better than the risk? ☆ do u like it? ☆ one guy who was working with his best friend (this was a rare assignment where u could choose whether to work alone or in a group!
