ok uhh mathes time the equation was... y = ((abs of (sin of >:() * slider 2) - slider 3) Slider 2 represents the total range the bounce can go. Slider 3 represents the position of the bop :3 is how fast >:( adds value and that is filed through the sin. Essentially its how fast it will go I dunno the cos and sin stuff but I do know some 8th/9th grade algebra so i got some understanding on ts What you can do if you wanna parent it to another part, set slider 3 pos to another sprite and then adjust it with subtraction and multiplication to your likings.
I had this in the back of my code and chucked it on but fogor where it came from this was for me :p
