Click As the war looked worse for the Autobots, Orion Pax was made the captain of a ship called the “Ark”. Their mission was to search for a new planet the Autobots could inhabit. Once reaching our solar system, the Ark was ambushed by a Decepticon warship led by Starscream. It was clear that the Seekers greatly outmatched the Autobots in strength and firepower. As a desperate last attempt, Orion Pax crashed the Ark into the Decepticon ship while he and his Autobots fled using escape pods. However the Decepticons were not fully wiped out either and many survived by fleeing in their Tetra-jet alt modes or their own escape pods. While the Autobots laid low on Earth until their forces were gathered and restored to strength, the Decepticons launched attacks on various military bases across the globe. Earth’s defenses were not able to do much against the Decepticons because of Shockwave and Soundwave tampering with their signals and electronics. After a lot of countries became aware of the Cybertronian’s presence on Earth, they created something known as the WDA (Word Defense Alliance) in order to create plans to fight back. Eventually Starscream began to target cities. He started with New York, believing that the destruction of one of the biggest cities would show humans that resistance was futile. Even though the Autobots were still way weaker, they could not allow the Decepticons to gain control of Earth. During the battle, the Decepticons started out with the upper hand due to the aerial advantage of the Seekers. The tide only turned when the military sent airstrikes to aid the Autobots. Eventually the combined forces of the Autobots and humans led Starscream to call for a retreat. As the Seekers prepared to fly away, they saw the shadow of a Decepticon warship suddenly appear overhead. This warship was the Nemesis, which belonged to Megatron. He and a lot more Decepticons exited the Nemesis, quickly overwhelming the Autobots and humans. Orion Pax’s weakened state let him be easily defeated by Megatron and taken prisoner. As the Autobots retreated, Megatron called back his forces because he planned to track them to their base where they could be finished for good. Megatron keeps a collection of artifacts and trophies aboard the Nemesis. Amongst them was the Matrix of Leadership, which he had taken from Alpha Trion. When Orion Pax arrived on board, his spark attracted the Matrix’s attention. In order to confirm if Orion Pax was truly worthy, Primus’s lifeforce put him through trials while he was unconscious to test his moral strength and leadership. Upon proving himself in these trials, the Matrix teleported from Megatron’s collection room, and to Orion Pax where it released a powerful surge of Energon that let him break free from Shockwave’s lab table. After taking care of Shockwave and his guards, the newly titled Optimus Prime freed Autobot prisoners aboard the Nemesis. Because most of the Decepticons were occupied fighting the remaining Autobots on the ground, Megatron was forced to order them to return to the Nemesis along with him. He knew that he could not let the Nemesis fall to the Autobots. The fighting eventually led to the ship spiraling out of control, so the Autobots retreated through ground-bridges as the Nemesis began to teleport away. This battle was ultimately a success that allowed the Autobots to continue their fight rather than face complete annihilation.
