They seemed to both be in the hotel’s kitchen. Ah, yes. Now X remembered. ~~ F L A S H B A C K ~~ The sun shone bright on X’s eyes. They squinted, letting out a frightened whimper at their friend’s tone. “How could you even mess that up?! Pillow was right there, and you let her…” Four rambled, and X began to zone out. Of course, they were trying their best to pay attention, but it was a bit difficult. “X!! Are you even LISTENING TO ME?!” Four was right infront of them now. X yelped, startling backwards at their friend’s tone suddenness of their friend. Of course, X wouldn’t lie to their best pal. “W- Uh- Yes, but k-kind of no…?” They said anxiously, as if One could appear behind them at any time during the sentence. “X. You need to /KNOW THESE THINGS/ next time we host!!” Four exclaimed, voice full of rage. They had hit X across the face. On X’s side, they’d begun to black out. On Four’s? Well, they gasped, and carried their friend to the kitchen. ~~ END F L A S H B A C K ~~ “F- Four?” “Hey, X. I’m-“ Four trailed off, watching X back away. X stepped over and around all of the kitchen’s clutter as they tried to back off. Four could, of course, still be angry and hurt them again. They whimpered, fear obvious on their face. Four practically lunged onto them, pulling them into a hug, then sat down on the slightly greasy tiles of the kitchen floor. X struggled. “X, I’m so sorry!! You’re a true yellow friend! I didn’t mean to hurt you!” X stopped wiggling like a cat who didn’t want to be held. “Y- You’re sorry?” “Yes, of course I am! You’re my bestest best friend ever!” Four stated, placing a gentle kiss to X’s top left nub. X felt their face heat up, and they melted into the embrace. “Thank you.”
