hello! welcome to my manager application - a little about me hi! my name is hilda and i use she/her pronouns. i’ve been a gaehive member for something like three years on various accounts and right now i am in CDT. i like to read, write, draw, and occasionally sing. i like geese a lot. - age range/time online i’m a teen and i am generally online 8 to 8:30 a.m. and anywhere between 4:30 and 10:00 p.m. CDT on weekdays, and i come online whenever i can or want to on weekends. - why i would be a good manager 1. i’ve been a member of the gaehive for a decently long time now and i like to think that i’m at least on good terms with many of my fellow members and good at politely enforcing rules when i notice a breakage 2. i’m relatively active on discusshive and like to contribute my ideas for the hive when/if i come up with them 3. i have plenty of experience managing/hosting other studios; i’ve been the host of a studio i created for two years and i’ve managed another for a while now too, though i can’t remember exactly how long 4. i’m for the most part a cheerful person in general, which i think is often a good thing in tense situations - downsides to me being a manager 1. i’m not very good at making friends with new people and i sometimes get anxious around it, which makes it hard to bond with other people in the community 2. i’ve mentioned this same thing in my past couple applications and i have somewhat resolved it since then, but i still unconsciously hold grudges against people if they have done something to harm me or other gaehivians i care about, even if it was insignificant and/or it happened a long time ago. - unique things that i could bring to the position as somebody who used to be hardly known around the gaehive and now is somewhat popular, i can understand the perspectives of and relate to many groups of people on the hive, which helps me notice when people are being bullied or straight up ignored for being unpopular. - what i would improve about the hive i think it would be good to create a studio/project showing how to kindly respond to rule breakages, especially around rules 10 and 4. i would gladly create this and it would be a useful thing to link in the description. a lot of the time, rules are either ignored when somebody is mentally struggling, or the community attacks them for breaking a rule clearly without considering that the poster of the comment could be in a hard or dangerous place. - what being a manager entails if i became a gaehive manager, i’m aware that i would likely be devoting a larger portion of my time to improving the hive in collaboration with the other managers. i also know that i will have to continue trying to stop myself from holding grudges, as i mentioned earlier. overall, being a manager entails making sure that everybody, no matter how popular, feels welcomed and supported. - other members that should be promoted (the following are in no particular order) the first person i suggest you promote is , or Squirt. he is an active member of the community and he manages the gaehive wiki. i’ve never seen him lash out at somebody or even be rude in general. secondly, i think that Rodimus () would be a wonderful manager. i don’t have any specific actions in mind that he has done to improve the studio, but based on seeing him interact with others around the studio and reading his application, he seems mature and aware of those around him. bye bye! thank you for your consideration!
