I took the soundchip board to my deck and pulled out the rusty battery compartment and the broken rusty speaker. I got out my mini alligator clips and attached them to the contacts for power and sound. I set the output voltage to 3v since the compartment housed 2 AAs, and to my surprise, it actually played the original audio! But the audio was distorted as expected.
