— 1: What story will you be using to answer these questions? How would you quickly describe the storyline? It's a story I wrote for a contest (well, I just wrote the first part for the contest, the rest I'm writing because...Well, I LOVE TO WRITE! Who doesn't if they're doing this?) Two best friends, Moon and Tess, go on a "treasure hunt" for fun when school is cancelled because of the rain, and they find Moon's missing mother's journal, and it turns out she discovered a whole other world/planet linked to Earth by a hole in the very fabric of reality. One of her colleagues (she's a scientist) trapped her there because she didn't want anyone to find out about it. 2: What inspired your story? The contest's theme, "unearth" and my tendency to have it be raining at the start of a story, lol. 3: Does it take place on Earth or in a made up land? In what time? In the present, on both Earth and Fratterra. (the linked planet) 4: What’s a favorite place in your story and the events that happen there? FRATTERRA! 5: Who is your protagonist? What is their mission? I guess Moon is kind of the main main protagonist, but Tess is one too. 6: Who is the most underrated character in your story and why? Timbre. He's just Moon's cat who's following them around. But he's got a real sense of adventure, and I love him for it. 7: What two characters have the most interesting relationship (good or bad)? Alaina (Moon's mother) and Patricia (her colleague who trapped her). Their backstory is more complicated that Alaina realizes herself. 8: What are the conflicts of the story? Do you have villains? Well, Tess and Moon go to Fratterra to rescue Moon's mom, and a lot of stuff happens on the way. The main villain is Patricia, and I also feel like mentioning the giant panther-leopard thing that captures them and makes them catch him fish. 9: Which character is the most misunderstood? Uhhh.... Honestly, I dunno. 10: Is there a character the most like you (or even based off you)? What qualities do you share? Moon. She's adventurous but also good at thinking about what to do. 11: Is there an animal sidekick? Timbre. 12: Who or what acts as the comedic relief? Timbre. 13: What is the underlying message or moral of the story? None really lol 14: What are some symbols or hidden meanings you have placed? I feel kind of bad that I can't really think of a good answer for this. 15: What genre would you consider your story? Fantasy/Science Fiction 16: What type of media is your story (book, animation, movie, play, etc)? Book. 17: What’s a song that matches an event or character in your story? Moon- Tightrope by Michelle Williams (I randomly stumbled upon this and realized it was perfect) 18: Is it a cast of people, animals, or both? The main characters are human, but most of Frattera's inhabitants aren't. 19: What’s something funny or ridiculous that happens? Timbre coming along, maybe? 20: What’s the biggest obstacle your protagonist must overcome? PATRICIA 21: Does anyone die? How does it change things? I have the basic path for the story, but I haven't thought of any deaths yet. 22: Which character would you choose to be your friend? Who would you not get along with? I want to be friends with Moon. I want to drop a boulder on Patricia. 23: If any, what weapons are used? Mostly weapons found in their environment, you just gotta use whatever you can find. Like freezing a panther-thing inside a block of ice with his head sticking out so he can't chase you. 24: How does your story differ now from when you first started making it? I've thought more about how I want to continue it. 25: What’s something interesting about your story that wasn’t asked about here? I feel like in most fantasy stories about traveling to another world, it's not a planet, just a "country" or just a "world". Or maybe it's just me. IDK.
