Space/tap for the next slide! Preface: Whenever I first saw manager applications were open, I was like "It hasn't even been 3 months yet!" before realizing it had been 5 months since I last applied. Time really is a circle lol __ Transcript - Intro/Why I'd be a good manager: !! Hello! I'm Khalid! Most know me as Kaz, Zip, Kallie, though. I've been a gaehive member since 2021, and my timezone is CST. I'm currently 15, but I will be turning 16 in May 2026. I'm usually online most of the week, excluding Thursdays and Wednesdays, typically in the afternoon or late nights in my timezone. Personally, I think I would be a good manager due to some minor experience in LGBTQ+ studios, as a creator, curator and as manager [see "The Achillean Association", "The Sapphic Society", and "Trans Gamers", for example] And my overall decent conversational skills, plus honestly my desire to help other young queer people find others like them, and to have a community to foster support, and friendship, just like gaehive was for me all those years ago. Along with that, I also try to tell others if they are breaking the rules, and I always try to help others in any way I can [like advice, answers, and even euphoria]. Things I'd do as a manager !! As for what cool things I'd do as a manger, I want to bring awareness to some visibility days, such as trans visibility day, ace visibility day, even non-queer days such as international bat appreciation day! I'd be fun if on one of these days, we'd have a mini-trivia event in the studio or something like that, say, "Was year was Dr. James Barry born?" "Who threw the first brick at stone wall? [trick question], just little fun things to promote curator and manager interaction. Generally, I'd love to see any promotion [see what i did there] of manager-creator collaboration as previously mentioned! What I think what being a manager means: !! From what I've gathered, managing is all about keeping everything calm in the studio, via enforcing rules, comment shut-downs, and making sure no trolls are allowed. Even minor details like updating the Studio Description, updating the thumbnail, or even removing unrelated or non-scratch appropriate projects are very important to keeping the studio safe for all Scratchers, whist still being a welcoming community. Making sure no one gets hurt is important. It's also about being there for the community, It's about showing your care in every way you can, and showing up when others need it most. Lastly, it's about improving the studio and fostering a space where others can rely on. Why I wouldn't be a good manager: !! 1: I get into arguments easily 2: I tend to be defensive over my opinions 3: I'm not active for that many hours [typically 1-3] People that should be nominated for manager [in my humble opinion]: !! - Yochu has been around for a bit, he's pretty active on the hive, and is pretty nice to me and others based on my observations. He's pretty chill and I don't think he'd start any drama up. - She's been here awhile, and seems responsible, plus she is known around the studio. [Matt's manager app: ] - They are a very nice, calm, and helpful person from what I've seen, and they've been around for about the same time as me, so they are familar with the studio. [their manager app: ] !! Everything is by me! [] I spent like 2 weeks making sure everything looked right and that there were no typos. I'm pretty sure I got them all, but please let me know if I missed any! Also look at my fursona icon, he looks so cute :3
