Space/click Use with credit We've never really discussed the restoration process of our TBF-1C (mostly making this project due to the whole corrosion and restoration situation). When we recovered 47866 from Truk Lagoon, we already knew most, if not all of it could not be used. In reality, the only parts from 47866 is the data plate. We still have the “rest” of its wreck, though just chunks of its tail, wings, and cockpit area, in storage. Most of the restoration credit goes to TBF-1 6064, which we recovered from Lake Michigan in 2003, a year after raising 47866. We also used some TBF-1C parts scattered across jungles in the restoration, but this aircraft is really TBF-1 6064. To reflect upon this, we’ve since added the bureau number of 6064 to the right side of the aircraft’s rudder.
