I've just been told by a friend of mine, that scratch is training ai on projects on the website. That is INCREDIBLY messed up. They are using CHILDREN'S art, CHILDREN'S work, CHILDREN'S INFORMATION, to train AI. THAT IS HORRIBLE. And we shouldn't just sit by and let it happen, I know i'm not the first, and I know this is a feeble attempt, but if EVERYONE genuinely starts spreading the word, we can get somewhere with this. I've mostly stayed quiet when it comes to the discussion of ai, simply because the mere concept of it has genuinely been affecting my mental health. but i will NOT stand for this. Art, and, well, EVERYTHING, is meant to be made by HUMANS. We're losing the point. We've survived THOUSANDS of years without it, we don't need it now. And don't you even DARE use any kind of stupid excuse like "Oh! I don't know how to draw tho!!!" or "My art is really bad!!" GUESS WHAT? NO ONE STARTS OFF KNOWING HOW TO DRAW!!! Remix this, spread the word, make studios, message scratch if you're willing to risk it, do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you can, please. We're destroying the planet, we're ruining lives, we're losing the plot. Humans have always been meant to create, discover, make things, learn things. Think of all the famous artworks, statues, structures, everything. It's all always been handmade, think about it, in ten years, when everything is done for us by a stupid robot, what are WE going to do? We won't have jobs, we won't have money DUE to no jobs, we won't have to get up to do anything. Do you realize the corner we're trapping ourselves in? They're already making "Ai GiRlFrIeNdS", human interaction is a CORE part of our SPECIES. What are we DOING? So, if you go to open c.ai, or generate a silly little image, think about what that's going to do in the long run. It's telling the people in charge that ONE more persons enjoys and engages with their slop. So, want a silly picture? Draw it. Can't draw? commission someone. Don't have money? Ask an artist friend or someone at your school. Lonely? message a friend. Can't? There are sites and hotlines SPECIFICALLY for talking to someone. Please, every little thing genuinely does help, we just need enough voices to get through their thick skulls.
