☆ Rex rides a shopping cart 4 cosmic brownies ☆ Chapter 1 I sat around the lunch table with my friends as we talked about Warrior cats and poked at some rubbery looking mac and cheese. “Okay, now would graystripe vote for-” Emily was abruptly cut off by a kid walking up to us, Trenton Copen, the one person who no one stands. “Warrior Cats?” he asked mockingly. “What are you, furries?” Rex cringed, and Emily stood up and replied, “Actually, yeah!” with a grin she sat back down, and we all shot each other mischievous looks. “Guys Emily is a furry!” Trenton exclaimed, yet his voice was drowned out by the sounds of kids talking, with a teacher dragging him back to his table and lecturing him about staying there. “We won.” Rex said in a mocking tone. “Now back to who’d each Warrior vote for!” Emily beamed “Hey mom, hey Bailey!” I said, racing into our small apartment. “You got everything you need for the sleepover?” Mom asked. “Yep!” I exclaimed from my room, as I grabbed a backpack filled with things for the sleepover. I slung the bag over my shoulder and rushed down the stairs. “Hi dear, ‘you going to see your friends?” It was Ms. Reina, she worked at the front desk and had become good friends with my mom. “Mhm” I nodded as I raced out the door as she yelled, “have a good night!” I met Emily and Rex outside the Dollar General to get some snacks. Emily and Rex had put their skateboard(Rex) and rollerskates(Emily) in a bush. “Now let's get some snacks!” Emily cheered as we laughed and went into the store. Emily got a cart and Rex climbed in it. You see, Rex has always been really short, the runt of her family, and somehow she fits in shopping carts still as a 14 year old girl. “Ah, ol’ reliable.” Rex said, as we came down the dessert aisle she reached for a box, Little Debbie’s Cosmic Brownies. “What’s not to love?” Emily smirked at me, leaning on the handle thingy on the cart. “Never stop the Brownies!” I said back. “Brownie Cats forever!” Rex replied sarcastically. We laughed quietly to ourselves. Brownie Cats, when we were little we pretended to be cats on the first grade playground We called ourselves the Brownie cats, after Rex’s love of cosmic brownies, and the name just kinda stuck and became an inside joke between the three of us. “Next up, sour gummy worms!” Emily said with joy as we pushed the cart over to the candy aisle. Emily grabbed a bag of the sour gummy worms from a hook and put them in the cart by Rex. Then we went further down the aisle to get my favorite, double chocolate chip cookies! I grabbed the pack of cookies with a cheesy grin on my face and put them in the cart by Rex. We paid for the snacks and some drinks we grabbed and walked out. Rex grabbed her skateboard and Emily grabbed her rollerskates from the bush, I just walked alongside them. “So, what are we having for dinner?” Rex asked as she pushed off on the ground and I jogged a bit to keep up. “Oh! My grandma’s gonna order a pizza!” Emily replied with delight as she zig-zagged back and forth on her skates. “So Rex you remembered to get the ouija board, right?” I asked, walking beside the two. “Yep.” Rex affirmed. We’d taken a back road behind the Dollar General and kept on going, then took a left, onto a dirt road, kept on some more, and we were at Emily's home. “Home sweet home!” Emily said, taking off her roller skates as Rex hopped off their skate board, and I just walked alongside them. We went inside and were greeted by Emily’s Grandma, a skinny woman who dressed like a hippie, she was always kind and full of whimsy, having my respect. “Oh hello girls!” she said happily pulling in Emily for a hug. “Hey grandma!” the three of us said in unison, even though we weren't technically related, me and Rex had always been close to her. “We’re going to go to my room grandma!” Emily said with a grin as she pulled away from her grandma. “Alright dears!” she called as we raced up the stairs to Emily's room. Rex plopped down on the bed as Emily spun as she sat down in one of those spinning office chairs by her desk, I sat on the bed by Rex and smoothed out my skirt. “So who would win in a fight, Percy Jackson, or Firestar?” Emily asked. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Notes + Credits Percy Jackson and Warriors(and firestar) belong to their respective owners (Rick Riordan + the Erin Hunter umbrella) song is Teenage Dirt bag by Wheatus photo is from the pin app Prev ☆ Next ☆ N/A First ☆ ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
