Step 1 (April 15): A project will be posted on @Novel_News_Official for people to apply for their works to be featured or for themselves to be featured. Our 6 article ideas all apply for this. We will also have a few other articles. Step 2 (April 13-20): People can go to the project and apply for their work to be featured or for an interview. Applications will close, and then we will pick those that will be featured. Step 3 (you can do this during step 2, all the way through the 22): Journalists, writers, editors - Choose at max 2 of the topics below to work on (either research, write about, or edit) once materials are chosen: top 10 poems of the month book reviews/suggestions interviews upcoming writer fanfic section story of the month opinion piece informational piece everyone will work on the featured article of the month: Quality over Quotidian: a controversial look at the future of reading. Step 4 (April 20-27): Journalists - you'll investigate these topics and the materials chosen for them. Gather unbiased, reliable information! Submit a project that has all your information for that article in it. Please include information for our featured article of the month, all that will be corroborated into one piece! JOURNALISTS, THE DUE DATE IS APRIL 27. However, please try to do it earlier. This moves the timeline forward and makes it easier on the writers, editors, and design artist! Everything from step 5 on is based on how fast the previous step is accomplished. Step 5: Writers - you will use the projects from the journalists to write rough drafts of your chosen articles you will work on. I will make a corroborated project of all the information for the featured article of the month. Use that! Please submit a project of your finalized draft (you can include both in 1; think of it as a folder). Step 6: Editors - you will choose at max 2 articles (not including featured article of the month) to edit. you'll have the rough drafts of the writers' articles. Please edit for grammatical mistakes and to improve the flow of the writing. Also, let the writers know what you are doing to improve their writing and why! This helps them get better and also makes it so that your edits don't seem offensive or rude :) Our amazing design artist - please have the layout set up by now! Step 7: Editors, please submit your articles by now!! Our design artist, it will be your job (and mine if you would like some help) to insert their articles into the Canva project and make it look nice! If you have any questions, please let me know! Let's do this!
