[I will make a whole YouTube video dedicated to Rec Room, its shutdown, and my journey] This month is a very sad month for Rec Room players. The shutdown has just been announced. Welp, guys... we lost a good one. A very, very good one. The platform had to shut down due to financial problems; the company could not turn Rec Room into a profitable and sustainable business. I don't blame them for doing this–what I liked about the game is that you could still have fun times and create without having to purchase anything. The whole company's motto was "Join the fun for free!". Believe it or not–this game had a large impact on my life and many others. It did help players a lot by allowing them to make new friends and connect safely more than I saw in other platforms. A player posted a comment on a video saying that it even helped them get suicidical thoughts out of their mind. I really enjoyed this game and spent more time on it than I did for Roblox (which I left back in December 2025). It helped me make several friends, compete in several competitions, and even improved my 3D creation skills (BY A LOT).
