April 14, 1912, 2340 hours. 11:40 PM. A moonless night. The newest and grandest liner steaming among a treacherous ice field. An iceberg spotted too late. Five bulkheads ruptured, one too much. 700 alive, over 1500 dead. It was supposed to be unsinkable. It was supposed to be safe. It was too little, too late. Not enough visibility. Not enough reinforcement. Not enough lifeboats. Not enough time. 2340 hours. 11:40 PM. The minute the world changed. 114 years ago. A tribute to more than 1500 souls who lost their lives during the sinking of the R.M.S. Titanic, 114 years ago today, on April 15, 1912, along with the 5 people in the Oceangate Titan Submersible who lost their lives when it imploded on its way to the Titanic on June 18, 2023, and the survivors of the Titanic sinking who have passed away since then.
