Geography: Despite being called "Isles," many of the islands in the Desolate Isles are actually quite large. Depending on the island, the Desolate Isles are generally rocky, sandy, and almost all plants are dead or dying. Rock Hollow is the mainland, the only area of the Desolate Isles actually connected to a continent. Economy: Most of the isles rely on the maritime industry, although some have a decent timber and spice industry. Most isles fish, catching some of the largest on the planet. These fish are then exported to other locations. Although most trees are dead, some isles manage to export this wood to other areas, though it is less valuable as compared to wood from rainforests and other places. Some isles have spice industries, although the soil is mostly sand and does not sustain many plants. People: Most people who live here are poor and do difficult labor involving hard, long, and tedious work. They do live semi-comfortable lives, usually in stone houses or straw huts.
