Hi ya'll--recently I spammed some kpop studios, begging for song recs because, as someone who stans a few kpop groups, I'm ashamed to say that I haven't even explored some of the most popular groups out there. Today I'll be listening to all the aespa song recs I got and rating them on a scale of 1-10. I'm a little hesitant about girl groups because I am yet to find one whose concept isn't a little cringe... *exhales* Here we go :) "Next Level": Right from the start, this was a vibe. There were low chords that completely enhanced the song's feel, and I loved how the mood of the song completely changed halfway through. However, there weren't too many words in the chorus (other than next level), and it was obvious that it was a b side. 5/10 Supernova: This one was highly requested, so I'm kind of excited about it. Like "Next Level", this was a vibe from the start, and I'm really liking this group's concept. However, while this did feature some more interesting elements towards the end, it didn't give the title track energy I've been looking for to convince me to stan this group. I still love this, though, and I'm going to add it to my playlist. 5/10 Drama: This was a BANGER. The lyrics, melody, everything about it had the vibe and that other aspect that elevates it from b side to banger (the vocals are gorgeous, especially during the bridge). The one thing I didn't like was how they just repeated a few words during the chorus, but this is amazing regardless. Who are these goddesses who blessed us with such heavenly voices? 8/10 Armageddon: Again, holy heavenly vocals (especially during the bridge). I also liked the more rap type elements, and although this is more of a b-side, I love the vibe and every part of it. 6.5/10 Whiplash: Again, another amazing song. I love the buildup in the verses and prechoruses, but I've noticed that this group's choruses have felt a little anticlimactic and often rely more on instrumentals. 5/10 Dirty Work: I like the more experimental vibe of this song, but the only parts of it that weren't giving b side were the vocal riffs. 5.5/10 Those were the first five songs I listened to, and my verdict? I love aespa's vibe, but I'm still looking for bangers. Part two is coming, though, so if you have any song recs leave them down in the comments! Tags: #kpop
