With construction beginning in 2007, TIV 2 is the replacement for TIV 1, with the goal of solving various things the original was lacking, namely ground clearance, power, and traction. To solve these issues, TIV 2 originally featured 3 driven axles (although this proved problematic and was later removed), a much more powerful engines, and sliding frontal armor panels, allowing for much more ground clearance. After Storm Chasers ended, the TIV 2 fell into disrepair and sat until 2019 before being sold to storm chasing team Storm of Passion for $35,000. It has since been restored and is seeing use.
