It's not a very challenging game, but I hope you will enjoy the graphics and music :) The unlocking music/color mechanic is heavily inspired by the mobile game Colorblind by Nitrome, which my kids played a lot when they were younger: https://www.nitrome.com/mobile/?app=colorblindmobile The first version of the level design was inspired by the C64 game Pitfall II by Activision, which I played a lot as a kid: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitfall_II:_Lost_Caverns It turned out quite different in the end though. I guess you could say that it is inspired by a whole bunch of C64 games now that I think of it, such as Lode Runner, the Goonies and Zorro. I made the music in BeepBox, and exported each channel separately. To keep with the lo-fi pixel vibe, I used simple wave forms as instruments. The first two channels use triangle waves, the third one uses a saw wave, and the fourth channel uses a square wave. The fifth channel uses drums of the drumset type. I thought it was fun to break the whole lo-fi sound thing there :) The sound effects were also made with BeepBox. When I was putting my finishing touches to the game, odd things started happening, such as code comments disappearing. I switched to TurboWarp, which worked great until I discovered that most of the code in one of the sprites was missing... Very frustrating.
