i have successfully installed linux mint on my old macbook, now i am above all windows/macos using mud dwellers. here's how i did it so you can be with me on my high horse: 1. get an empty USB drive 2. plug it into the computer 3. get balena etcher and flash a linux distro of choice onto the usb drive 4. i dont know how to do this for windows, but for mac, you need to restart the computer and press and hold option immedietly. this will open the boot menu 5. choose the usb and boot into the linux distro 6. if using mint, press the button in the corner that says "install linux mint" 7. it will give you the choice to thanos snap away your hard drive or dual boot. choose the one you think is best. 8. enjoy your linux.
