Nearby, a white-pelted seacat drifted closer, moving with the school of fish silently and slowly. Absentmindedly, she wondered how many mackeral she'd be able to catch. 2? Maybe 4? Viv looked up again, sighing wearily as the school once again moved further away. Ivory slunk forward, keeping an eye on the fish closest to her as she tensed her muscles, readying herself. One, two.. The warrior darted forward, claws wrapping around empty air as the school of mackeral dispersed away from her. / you need to be faster than that. / Viv hissed and clawed uselessly at the remaining water, watching helplessly as the mackeral fled into the depths, too fast and agile to chase after. ... Way too fast. A small thing like Ivory couldn't make an entire school of fish scatter like that. Ivory turned around too late, her eyes barely missing the sharp teeth of a shark. Ivory hissed and darted away, snapping her body around to face the predator as it lunged at her again. way too fast. / be faster / Viv only managed to swing her body sideways, choking as the shark slammed into the side of body, teeth tearing through flesh like paper as it repeatedly bit down on her side. / not fast enough / Ivory scrambled against the shark, claws sliding across it's rough hide, digging into its eyes. She grit her teeth as it backed off, wincing at the sensation of salt water against bare flesh. At this point the water had turned crimson, the taste of iron ringing in her mouth- as well as the sharks. There was no getting away. She had to stay and fight. / how stupid was she? / Lunging forward, the seacat spinned upside down in the water, her claws meeting the soft underside of the shark and ripping through. It was a lot smaller than the ones she'd seen before- perhaps this was a juvenile. Perhaps she had a chance. The shark writhed in pain before turning around and slamming into her again, biting down around her neck. A jolt of panic shot through Ivory and she snapped her head away, face contorted in pain while she pushed off the shark, swimming a couple meters away. Her eyes'd been narrowed to slits, pure panic and adrenaline taking over common sense. Waves of pain racked her body. / you were so close to dying. Focus. / .. The underwater fight went on for a couple more hazed minutes, a continuous scramble until Ivoryvirtue found herself where she needed to be. Slamming into the side of the shark and ripping through its gills wth her claws, effectively weakening the already damaged shark. For 30 moer seconds she darted in and out of the shark's reach, subconciously fearful that more sharks would arrive. Its moves became more sluggish and slow, the water mixed with crimson from both of the opponents bodies. / until at last, its movements stop. / For a moment she stared at the body of the shark slowly falling to the floor, Ivory's sides heaving as her gills struggled to filter water. No triumphant horns sounded in her head like how she'd imagined her father'd felt. Just the ringing of her own thoughts in her ears and the taste of iron. / it'd be a waste / .. Ivory staggered onto the shore, wracked with pain and exaustion. She dragged the shark by its tail onto the sand, trying not to choke on blood. For a moment she stood in the hazy sunlight, heaving in air as her aching muscles took a break. She'd almost died. That wasn't what a warrior was. Warriors were supposed to be strong. She shook off the tears that threatened to fall and grit her teeth in frustration. Her father had killed a shark. Sure, he had a clanmate with him, but he was strong enough to overpower it and sustain little wounds. How foolish was she to think that she was as strong as him? She needed to be better. She needed to be stronger than this. Ivory growled in her throat, frustrated, and stumbled forward. She needed to be better. Perhaps she should train tomorrow- her techniques needed improvement. Should she get someone to train with her? -- And so the warrior of seaclan stumbled forwards on the sand, dragging a shark and a trail of blood behind her. ━━━━»•» ❖ «•« ━━━━ TLDR: Ari cooked on the thumbnail and didnt have enough motivation on the srp. Ivory fights and successfully kills a shark, but doesnt feel satisfied with the outcome. It took too long, she sustained too much injuries. Her father would be disapointed.
