On November 14 1965 the battle of Ia Drang took place, signaling the start of major U.S. involvement in Vietnam 8 years later on March 29 1973 the U.S. stopped their involvement in Vietnam. 2 years later on April 30 1975 South Vietnam fell ending the war.
