Rosepetal woke up and found herself by a thunderpath 'What the-?' she thought and jumped back as a monster roared by. "Okay, the heck?" She said out loud. "How did i end up here?" She looked around and found a sewer opening... it stank but she decided to at least look. She went in she got her paws wet, "Eww." She wasn't normally disgusted by water but... this was sewer water. She looked around for a bit and caught a mouse and rat or two... or three. As she went deeper she started to hear mewling. Her ears perked up and she started going towards the sound. She sniffed the air... their was a scent... at least two terrified... kits maybe? She started rushing to them, where was their mother? Was the mom D3@d? Lost? Trapped? Injured? Worse than any of those? She finally after what felt like hours reached the kittens, she sniffed them one was a Tom the other a She-kit. And they needed food... IMEDIATELY. She hunted some more and managed to catch a couple mice and a squirrel that had wandered in somehow. These kits were at least old enough to eat solid food so she came back and set the food in front of the kits. They started eating hungrily. Once they were done she asked, "Where's your mother?" The water dripped quite loudly in the silence. "Hunting." The she-kit replied, "I don't know why she hasn't come back yet." 'I can't tell her what could've happened... she'd...' Rosepetal sighed. "What are you two called?" "I'm Song." She said, she nudged her brother, "Come on, tell her. Please~?" The Tom, the older of the two, sighed a mix of playful and exasperated, "Okay, I'm Feather." A few days later... their mom still hadn't came back... 'Hopefully she's only stuck as a kittypet (house cat) instead of injured... or worse.' She shook her head, 'Snap out of it.' Song looked up at her with pleading eyes, "Can we finally see outside, pleaze~?" She lets out a little laugh, "First, it's 'please' not 'pleaze'. Second of all, yes you can." Song let out a little happy sound and started dashing to the exit. "Wait for me though!" Rosepetal called... but, Song was already out. Feather sighed, "Yeah... she... does that." She padded out Feather at her side, Song was already playing around in the field of green grass and flowers. Rosepetal smiled, after a while she joined her and Feather did as well. When it was Sunhigh, a shadow suddenly fell over them... blocking out all the sun. The all froze, Rosepetal stood up her fur bushed, "What. is. that?" She asked standing there her fur bushing more by the minute. "I-i-i don't know." Song managed to stammer. "We need to get in, NOW." Rosepetal said urgently. They started going towards the sewer entrance where they had been staying, but the large shadow just followed them. Rosepetal looked up and saw what it was, an Eagle a LARGE Eagle with a wingspan of probably 25 feet was following them. Rosepetal started running, but Song and Feather had started running before her. Song was the first to make it and urged Rosepetal and Feather on. Feather made it as well... when Rosepetal was only inches from safety the eagle dove and grabbed her, she yowled in pain. Feather and Song rushed to help her... but it was too late as the Eagle had lifted too far off the ground. She fought and struggled but couldn't get free from it's grasp. 'I can't d|3 like this.' She thought panicked, 'I won't!' The scenery went by like a blur the only thing keeping her conscious being that she didn't want to d|3 and the terrible pain from the claws. Soon over a cliff she manages a final frail attempt to get herself free and it worked! But she was falling now and going to hit the cliffs, "NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!" She shouted... but there was nothing she could do now. As her head hit the rocks and her body tumbled down her last thought was, 'Why... Why this? Why now? WHY!?' Then everything- went- black.
