I'll be taking a coding class next year and in case I decide to pick up GB + Skelly: Journeys again, this is how it's gonna go. It would be a movement based platformer all about speed and making everything you do look cool. There would be multiple characters each with their own diverse and complex moveset. Each character would also have their own campaign, where almost all of the levels are the same but some of them would randomly hit you with a cool new one by surprise. The reused levels would all be structured the same way, except there would be some paths only 1 character could go down or reach. The levels would be extremely complex and have many choices on different ways to go. Every level would have unique platforming mechanics and some sort of boss at the end. During a boss, you would keep your moveset, except every move could be used to inflict damage and the character's moveset would turned into that of a fighting game while still remaining the same. So what I guess I'm trying to say is the moves could be used for getting around and for fighting. The levels would be quite long, as well. They would also have enemies that can be defeated by using any move that can deal damage on them. I would try to keep the same art style of the comics and NOT convert it to pixel art. I would try to also make the music have a funky sort of style similar to Sonic Mania. Each character and campaign would have a unique final boss. The game would be speedrunner supported, with every save file automatically have a timer on it and a way to see how fast your past runs through the game were. If you already beat the game as a character and started a new save file with the same character, you could teleport to any section of any level in order to practice it and check off the parts you think you were pretty good at. There would also be a speedrun mode which would skip all dialogue and cutscenes. For those who are into online, there would be a racing mode where you can choose whichever character you want and race someone through a randomly selected level. There would be a "Mastery Meter" for each character that would go up as you won. Maxing it out would get you a alternative skin for the character you could use in any mode. There would also be a ranked mode which would allow both people to ban a level of their choice. If you won enough times, you would rank up and go against harder opponents. Those are my ideas so far, what do you think? (If I do make this game, holy smokes it's gonna be a bazillion years away. It also wouldn't be on Scratch, obviously.)
This is poorly written, I know. I just wanted to write these ideas down because they might be good. I sad "it would" in this at least 20 times.
