A sampan is a type of flat bottomed wooden boat still found in parts of Asia. They are mainly used on inland waters. They may include cabins to live in. Click, <right arrow> or <space> key to advance. <left arrow> key to go back. This sampan is a well known origami piece. * Be very neat and precise with your folds. * Make strong creases! (ie. fold completely and flatten with thumb).
Made for the Paper Boats studio: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/51473781/ Some fancier origami tutorials by me: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/50595732/ I first made this sampan in the 1970s from an origami book by Robert Harbin. If the instructions are unclear, there are several videos and tutorials for "origami sampan" on the internet. This sampan and photos are by me.
