The Fragmentum Aeternitatis (Shard of Eternity) is a celestial blade forged from a fragment of Primordial Eternity, the purest form of absolute existence found only in the central core of the Nemeverse, and tempered in the darkest wells of the Absence. Welded by the Empress of Destruction, the Shard takes many forms of many different weapons to suit the needs of the user. Only those with an incredible mind and indomitable will are capable of holding the Shard, as the weapon will put immense strain on the mind and without the will to use it the weapon will prove too heavy to lift. The weapon was originally crafted by Fusion; however, the first iteration of the blade was unstable and weighed more than our sun, making it rather annoying to use. It was then refined by Axiom before being perfected by Fusion. The blade is now incredibly well-balanced and surprisingly light, with an edge capable of severing the very essence of one's existence from existence itself, allowing the blade to kill immortal beings. The blade is also capable of cutting through any material, can absorb and erase energy, and is widely considered to be indestructible. While the true form of the Shard is unknown and the blade can become any known weapon, it is mainly seen taking one of 3 main forms. —————— [FORM 1: THE ECLIPSE] —————— The first form, nicknamed the Eclipse, is a 40 cm (16 inch) dagger with a vantablack edge with a purple aura that appears similar to the accretion disk of a black hole. Observed on the blade is one symbol: Othalan, the Elder Futhark rune for nobility, heritage, and tradition. By the will of the user, the symbol and glow of the blade can disappear, making the blade almost completely invisible in low-light conditions. This form is unique, the form is for stealth and speed, dealing multiple fast consecutive blows, and requires incredible skill to be used effectively. If used effectively, the Eclipse is swift, silent, and lethal, capable of fighting in conditions the other forms would struggle in, and capable of catching opponents completely off-guard. ————— [FORM 2: THE NULLIFIER] ————— The most common and recognizable form of the Shard. Nicknamed the Nullifier, this form is an ornate longsword approximately 1 meter (3 feet) in length with a leather grip, decorated pommel, and batwing-like guard. The blade has powerful symbols running along the blade and the end sharply broadens into an arrow-like triangular tip. The blade is not actually attached to the handle, floating slightly over it, and can be shot forward to hit distant targets and reel them in similarly to a harpoon. ———— [FORM 3: THE VOIDBREAKER] ———— The Voidbreaker is a large 2-meter long greatsword with a broad blade and an ornate handle. This form, forged from the essence of a dying universe, is several magnitudes more powerful than almost any of the Shard's other manifestations, with craftsmanship rivalling even the likes of Axiom. The blade has a noticeable gravitational pull, and an injury inflicted by the blade, even a slight graze, can cause irreversible damage or even completely destroy one's essence and anchor to existence. This particular form of the Shard is the only form theoretically capable of affecting the Architect, and if turned against its user, the blade is more than capable of severely harming Fusion. This is incredibly hard to do, however, as the weapon is believed to weigh almost as much as Phoenix-A, the largest known black hole in our universe.
