EDIT: I made this when I was rlly mad, I don't hate all neo/xenopronoun users, only the ones who use it as an accessory I. am. TIRED. Bro. I CAN'T accept neopronouns anymore. I've TRIED and I JUST. CAN'T. Like... if they WEREN'T considered apart of the LGBTQ+ community, then I'd be totally fine with them. And DON'T use neurodivergency as an "excuse" and call me "ableist" I'm neurodivergent as well. Anyways, lemme start my rant now. Neopronouns are NOT apart of the LGBTQ+ community and here's why I THINK that. I hate these people SO MUCH. Like, they'll get all mad and absolutely NASTY with you and call you every "phobic" in the dictionary if you show ANY sign of confusion or disagreement with their pronouns. It's like they just expect you to bend over backwards and just go "okay" when they tell you they go my rainbow/catself. Like NO. I'm GOING to QUESTION and JUDGE your pronouns, whether you like it or not. "Well, it's not hurting anyone!! And it's their pronouns, not YOURS!!" Genuinely, shut up. First of all, something doesn't NEED to hurt anyone for me to dislike it. Like... I have the RIGHT to dislike, or even HATE something even if it's not hurting anyone. It shouldn't have to HURT anyone to still be considered problematic. Second of all, yeah, your pronouns DO involve other people as well. Just because they're YOUR pronouns doesn't mean that they still can't make people feel uncomfortable when you ask them to use them for you. Like, if someone told me to call them chair/chairself, I'd be SERIOUSLY uncomfortable with that. I don't CARE if they're YOUR pronouns, they still make ME uncomfortable bc it feels like I'm dehumanizing you! And bro, these ppl are SO cisphobic (I just made that up bc there's no real name or it yet.) For example, you'll see someone making a good example, saying that neopronouns are harming the LGBTQ+ community. Like, I saw someone make a FIRE point, where they said that neopronouns are making the LGBTQ+ community seem like a fandom, rather a community that fought for their rights. They also said neopronouns users make pronouns seem like an accessory and something to be collected, when they're not, which is true. BUT THEN, someone will reply to that comment going "Erm well, you're cis, so you can't speak on this!" SEE WHAT I MEAN??? IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THEY'RE CIS, THEY'RE MAKING A GOOD POINT EITHER WAY!! And for the record, trans and non-binary people don't like neopronouns either, so don't come up to be with that stupid "you're cis so your opinion is invalid" argument. You're literally saying that my identity doesn't make my opinion valid. And it doesn't help that half the community are kids whose frontal lobes haven't fully been developed yet, bc that just make me think that those kids chose the pronouns bc they thought they sounded COOL and they wanted to be "different". Not bc they actually identified with them. And lemme get one thing straight, NOUNS ARE NOT PRONOUNS. Liking/being obsessed with cats is a PERSONALITY. NOT a gender. ATP, it feels like you guys are making these things into genders JUST bc you wanna be a part of the LGBTQ+ community, NOT bc you actually feel like those things are your identity. Also, not everything needs to be a gender!! I'm not PLAYING these GAMES. Being a RABID HOSTILE DOG is NOT a gender. I did NOT make that up, btw, ppl ACTUALLY consider that a GENDER. Now, lemme talk about how I think neopronouns/xenopronouns or whatever u call them are problematic. It's bc they're considered a part of the LGBTQ+ community, which as I said before, they're NOT. I'd be a lot more chill with these guys if they DIDN'T consider themselves part of the community. Like NO, lil bro, it's called the LGBTQIA community, not the LGBTQIANX community. Neopronouns and xeno... whatevers are their OWN community. Being gay isn't a choice. Being trans isn't a choice. Hell, even pronouns aren't a choice!! I go by he/him/she/her bc I see myself in both masculine and feminine ways!! NOT bc I chose them. I didn't CHOOSE to feel like that. And tbh, I don't wanna see myself in a masculine way... The best way I can explain it is that I don't feel "pretty" enough to fully consider myself feminine. I didn't ASK to feel that way... But anyways, yeah. If neopronouns were considered their OWN community and not LGBTQ+, I'd be okay with it. Like, the pronouns "dude" and "bro" are considered neopronouns. Are they considered part of the LGBTQ+ community? HELL no. BUT... I'm not one of those ppl who're like "ewwww!! I'm not gonna call you those pronouns!!" I WILL call you your preferred pronouns, bc no matter how much ANIMOSITY and BIAS I hold toward you people (due to personal experience and every single neopronouns user I've seen/met so far being absolutely HOSTILE towards people who ask SIMPLE questions)... I still care about you. I understand to an EXTENT, what you're going through... And believe it or not, I've gone through something similar too.
(Continued here) WHAT?!?!?!? You don't BELIEVE me!?!?!? Alright, F I N E! I guess I gotta say this, then... I was H O P I N G to keep this a secret from y'all, but... I wanted to be a wolf at one point. SHOCKING!! I KNOW! When I was younger, I'd CRY to my parents, begging for them to get me surgery so that I could get wolf ears and a tail. And when I say cry, I mean CRY. I would cry for HOURS, wishing I could be a wolf, have a wolf family, have all the wolf traits, etc. I'd even put on cat earmuffs (they were the best I had </3) and PRAY. Literally. I'd get on my knees, clasp my hands together, and PRAY that those earmuffs would connect to my head and SOMEHOW turn into wolf ears. And I'd do this EVERY NIGHT. Now... even though I did allat, do you see me going by wolf/wolfself? NO!!!11!11!!11111111 But... I wouldn't MIND. That's what I mean by I understand to an extent. I KNOW the feeling, and I wouldn't even MIND going by neopronouns... BUT, I wouldn't consider myself part of the LGBTQ+ community. That's all I'm trying to say. Neopronouns ARE valid. They're just NOT a part of the LGBTQ+ community imo. Also... PLEASE understand that the only reason I have all of this hate, is bc I've had so many bad experiences with people who use these pronouns. I don't actually HATE every single neopronouns user. Tbh, I LOVE some of of the pronouns, like fluff/fluffself. It's cute! It's just that, when you ask someone WHY they go by that, they get all rude and nasty and call u ableist, homophobia, transphobic, etc... But, if you're an understanding neopronouns user whose NOT like that, then NO, I DON'T hate you. This is only aimed toward the 10 year old neopronouns user who get offended easily and use every insult in the dictionary towards you when all you ask them is "Why do you go by those pronouns?" #Neopronouns #LGBTQ (I still don't consider neopronouns part of the community, but I need this to get attention)
