[ A new book sits on one of the bookshelves near the front. It’s incredibly thin, and very obviously handmade. It seems as though the author of the book has been put on last minute, then messily scribbled out. You can just barely make out {K—z-l Wir—l Vr-g} The title reads {Venus “Fly”traps; A How-To on Owning Them.} Handwritten— a bit shaky. The handwriting seems to be getting more rushed every page. ] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [ On the back of the cover, ink seems to have been spilled, making the first page nearly completely black. But it seemed to have been a diagram, considering the bits of color and labels. You flip the page. Again, the handwriting is shaky, but still readable. It seems to have started mid-thought. Or continued from the last page. ] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ —owning is a bit of an overstatement with these creatures. Rare to find, highly aggressive. Actually, why would you- [the rest of the sentence is scribbled out.] Venus “Fly”traps are almost never found in the wild anymore, unless you go ———- —- walls. They’ve been deemed dangerous by many gardeners, but really once you [followed by many words, all scribbled out] tame them, they can be quite friendly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DIETS [ There’s a few depictions of different strips of meat, unreadably small handwriting under each— most likely describing which they prefer. You suppose you’ll never know from this. ] Venus “Fly”traps survive on a diet of completely meat. It is not advised to water them, or else they will— [followed by frantically scribbled out words, will was most likely supposed to be scrawled out as well.] might grow to terrifying sizes, and begin to hunt. To feed manually, stroke the flat top of their mouths, and wait until it slowly opens. Then, drop a strip of meat in. [A last minute add in, directly underneath the former sentence; “It is advised not to watch them chew/digest if you have a weak stomach.”] They will take care of the rest. One strip will last them 2-3 weeks at the most. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SIZE & AGGRESSION [There’s many scribbled out chunks and words on this page, and you also notice a significant font change at the bottom, but wait to read it.] Depending on how they’re [again, a series of scrawled out words before it continues, the next word seemed to have been written aggressively.] raised, their sizes can range from the size of the average human palm to four feet tall. [another seemingly last-minute written note under the former sentence; “Four feet is the tallest I have grown one, and mouth sizes differ.”] Their aggression rate can range from— [the rest is scrawled out in red pen. More writing follows in the same color, in very neat cursive. It seems as though the person who tried writing this add-on had attempted to many times, which explains the chunks of black covering things.] If you would like to know any more, you can ask an expert on carnivorous plants, the author of this book! Simply go to the greenhouses, and you may find him. [It’s quite obvious said author did not want to be known, but perhaps you could. Who knows?]
