**✿❀ Chapter 8 ❀✿** Nora, Calvin, Dakota, and Laveda all made their way steadily up the cobblestone to Honeydukes. Dakota and Laveda bought Cauldron Cakes and Bertie Bott's every flavor jellybeans, while Nora and Calvin bought quite a few Chocolate Frogs. After Honeydukes, Laveda wanted to go to Madam Puddifoot's tea shop, so Dakota and Laveda left and they all agreed to meet up at The Three Broomsticks in about an hour. Calvin asked if they could stop by the post office to send a letter to his dad, and Nora needed a new quill, the shops were not far from each other at all so Calvin and Nora went their own ways for a bit. But Nora knew the carefree day wouldn't last for long. When she walked into the quill shop, someone pulled her aside right away and, by instinct, Nora slapped them, though she instantly regretted it. Jeremy stumbled a few steps backwards and massaged his cheek which had a red hand mark. "Good Lord, it's just me." He snapped. "Sorry-but what do you expect? Imagine you were someone else out to kidnap me, I'm going to defend myself you moonmind!" Nora argued. "Maybe don't sneak up on me like that, just a thought." "Never mind that. Why did you tell Travis Unscalo about you-know-what?" Jeremy asked in a low tone. Nora frowned, looking at him as though he was mad. "I didn't. But is he that creepy fourth year?" "Yes! And he said you told him!" "I did not! And besides, is this really the place to be discussing this?" Nora asked in an undertone. "Then meet me in The Three Broomsticks," Jeremy said, heading out into the cold. "I can't! I'm meeting up with some friends there-" But he had already left. *That boy is exasperating....* She thought as she walked over to look at some fancy Eagle feather quills. As she examined the quills, she saw a Slytherin girl, probably about two years younger than her, looking at a stunning Peacock feather quill. "That's beautiful." Nora said. "Yes, it is. But it's a bit flashy for my taste." The girl said. "Wait, aren't you one of the new Slytherin Prefects?" "I am. Nora's the name." Nora said with a slight smile. "I'm Irene, it's a pleasure to meet you." "Likewise. And if you're not going to buy that, may I have a look at it." Irene nodded and handed it over. The quill was smooth and shone brightly in different light. "Well, I think this is the one I'll get. It was nice to meet you Irene." "And you." Irene said, then kept looking for the perfect quill. Nora paid for the quill and it was packaged and Nora took it and headed back out into the cold. Calvin walked out of the Post office and they walked together down the cobblestone as the brisk, cold air whipped their faces.
Calvin opened the door of The Three Broomsticks for Nora and she walked in with him right behind her. A wave of warmth rushed over them, followed by the smell of warm Butterbeer and the sound of chatter in the pub. Dakota was waving from a table in the back next to the fire place with Laveda right next to her, still warming her hands as she was cuddled close to Dakota to keep warm. "How was Madam Puddifoot's?" Nora asked as she sat down, Calvin next to her. "It was good, Laveda loves that place, it's very romantic." Dakota replied. "I heard. My older sister went there during her time at Hogwarts." Calvin said. The four of them talked and laughed, Dakota laughed so hard at a story Calvin had told that Butterbeer came out of her nose, Madam Rosmerta rushed over with some napkins and told them to not make such a mess. Nora felt genuinely happy, which was an odd feeling because she didn't feel that often, the last time she did was when she caught the Snitch for their last match the previous year. But like every other good moment, Jeremy had to ruin it, he came over and tapped her on the shoulder and gave her that 'We need to talk' look that Nora found so very annoying for no reason at all. "I'll be right back." She gritted through her teeth as she stood up, the Calvin, Dakota, and Laveda nodded and continued to talk, though Calvin was a little more interested in where Nora was going. Jeremy led her to a door, which he opened and turned out to be the cleaner's closet, Nora stepped in and Jeremy followed and closed the door. "Travis said you told him-" "Whatever that idiot said, isn't true. He came up to me claiming that he heard up talking and said he knew you were a vampire, he said he'd expose you to the whole school. I said I could make it look like he did something way worse so that he'd be expelled. Now he's stalking." Jeremy sighed in frustration. "I should've never told you anything...." "I didn't tell him!" "I know, but now you're involved in this whole issue...." "It's fine, okay?" Nora assured him, "Just try to ignore that little devil, Travis, alright?" Jeremy nodded and took a deep breath. Then there was a tapping on the wooden door, Nora opened it to see Calvin. "Oh, hi...." "Is everything alright in here?" He asked, slightly stern. "Oh, yes. We were just about to come out. weren't we, Jeremy?" Nora said, stepping out and back into the noise of the full pub. "Uh, yeah." Calvin gave Jeremy an odd look as he walked away, then put his arm around Nora and led her back over to the table. "I think we're gonna head back, Laveda's getting tired." "We should too," Nora said, giving Calvin a side glance. They paid for their Butterbeers and left, heading back up to the castle.
