Space and Click In lieu of spending the time developing a new fifth generation air superiority airframe, the UNOP has pushed funding into a fifth iteration of the F-120 Sparrowhawk. A redesigned inlet reduces RCS and reduces the heat signature, a redesigned vertical stabilizer helps grant it some of the nose authority it lost when it got rid of the 3D thrust vectoring, and updated avionics keep it on par with other contemporary UPMAD airframes. It also for the first time has hard points, so pylon mounting capability. Its production numbers aren't planned to exceed the F-120D (which will remain the primary source of stealth air superiority in the UPMAD) but it will supplement that fleet with a more modern airframe.
Okay, so for once I checked to see how blatant of an F-22 knockoff my F-22 knockoff was. Basically, the F-120 is a little longer with a larger cockpit, and its airfoils are shaped a little different. It's also less round, so it probably has a worse RCS. lol
