We’re beyond (;D) excited to have you along for the ride this summer— and what better way to start it off than a fresh lineup of prospect cabins? If you aspire to (co-)lead a cabin this time around, you’re in the right place! We’d like to ask that you please make sure to read through the entirety of this description regardless of if you’ve led a cabin before. This camp was created as a place for like-minded individuals to engage in a month filled with fun activities, friendly competition, and also serves as a platform for learning and continuous improvement <3 ┈⬫┈ “What kind of designs count for minutes/activity submissions?” Any type of designing as long as it is created or curated by you with your own thoughts counts! This includes but is not limited to graphic design, making moodboards or collages, interior design, product design, character design, and more. You can create your designs on any platform or medium, digital or physical! If you are unsure as to whether something counts, you can ask one of the hosts on their profile. ┈⬫┈ “What are the responsibilities of a (co)leader?” (Co)Leaders should: ◦ Maintain a healthy balance between camp and real life, as well as encouraging campers to do the same ◦ Contribute to the planning and development of your cabin ◦ Oversee the cabin and address any questions that campers may have. If you are unsure of your answer, direct the question to the host(s) ◦ Update cabin minute counts every so often, and be responsible for totalling up counts at the end of the session ┈⬫┈ “How do I apply?” Simply remix this project with your answers! Most apps incorporate a theme featuring redesigned slides, but this is by no means compulsory. Text-based apps are completely acceptable, but do keep in mind that this is a design camp and so apps are also judged on the creativity factor ^^ Don’t worry about it having to be perfect and polished though, this extra touch is mainly to showcase your personality! ┈⬫┈ “What are the cabins?” The cabin lineup each session is decided based off our session theme! This session, there will be four cabins, each represented by one of the msnz units ◦ moon ◦ sun ◦ neptune ◦ zenith Please note that these are only names– Cabin leadership teams still reserve the final decisions on how to theme the cabin, and being in a different cabin doesn’t change the type of design you’re allowed to do ^^. ┈⬫┈ “I've never led in a previous camp before, nor had much leading experience outside of Scratch. Would that affect my chances of getting selected?” Like most other camps, leaders will be selected based off answer quality, honesty, as well as creativity in your apps. However, having more prior leading experience does not put you at a significantly higher spot when applying as we are a relatively smaller camp that aims to offer opportunities to those who might not have had a chance somewhere else. ┈⬫┈ “Can I apply if I’ve never participated in SDC at all?” Of course! Anyone and everyone is welcome to apply, though we do suggest having a bit of experience in SDC or other Scratch camps, just to better prepare you for what to expect during the session ;) ┈⬫┈ “Do we have co-leaders?” Perhaps! As we can never quite guarantee the amount of applications we’ll get per session, there is no definite answer as it does change per app season. You may choose to specify on the last question that you would prefer being a co-leader if the numbers are sufficient, but every application that gets submitted will still be considered for leader. If there are apps remaining after filling up the session’s maximum cabin count, leaders can choose to offer to prospect cos then. TL;DR: Get your friends to apply!
