I wouldn't recommend playing on HELL difficulty, died in the first room. Also, try to wait a while before attacking bosses in Forgiving mode. I had maxed luck and almost maxed damage, and a spell, and I one-shot the boss on Forgiving mode. I think I did, at least. It died before I saw the health bar, and the game softlocked. Hehe, it's too easy.
