Today was the first day of school at Grey Woods High School. Silas -of course- was not thrilled at all at the prospects of going to school again. He had no friends and was usally the quiet kid everyone ignored. He was like a shadow to the other kids. Then again why would he want to friend any of them? Most just acted like senseless idiots… well at least thats what he tried to convince himself. The reason why he couldn’t make any friends was much deeper… but that reason he preferred to ignore. Silas was already awake long before his alarm clock went off. He managed about an hour of sleep last night. Despite this though he still had enough energy to get out of bed and to the living room.”hey how did you sleep?” His mom asked. “Good i suppose.” Silas replied. “Come on dear i know your lying. Where they keeping you up last night?” She asked. “No I’m fine… and i told you not to mention them mom.” Silas retorted. “Yes I know dare but I worry about you all the time.” She responded in a more gentle tone this time. “Yes I know you worry a lot mom you always have. But trust me I’m fine.” Silas responded with a small hint of annoyance in his voice. Before his mom could say anything else Silas grabbed a bagel and grabbed his stuff that was already packed for him and walked out the door. Silas did not need to worry about changing he sleeps in his causal clothes all the time so he didn’t have to waste his energy in the morning picking out clothes for the day.
