This is an implementation of Per-pixel Grapher mode of The Grapher (Flash game developed by Cary and Michael Huang). Enter an expression. It will show what the expression is for different values of x and y. x and y both range from -5 to 5 at default zoom. The result is a color: black is 0, reds are positive up to 16, blues are negative down to -16. Gray is anything outside of that range. Use left and right to change resolution, and up and down to zoom. It will ask for an RPN (Reverse Polish Notation) expression. If you don't know what that is, you can see the expressions for the original 16 graphs below to try. Allowed symbols: x - The x position. y - The y position. +-*/ - The basic operations. s - Square. (x^2) a - Absolute value. ^ - Exponent. Might be buggy. r - Reciprocal. (x^-1) q - Square root. (x^0.5) sin, cos, tan - The basic trig operations. Takes radians, not degrees. % - Modulo. May have unpredictable results with decimals. Although, unmodified x and y should be fine due to weird floating point stuff. ln - Log base e. Diagonal Line - x y + Sharper Line - 8 x * 8 y * + Absolute! - 3 x * a 3 y * a + Simple Ball - x s y s + Hollow Circle - x s y s + 3 s - Um, UFO? - x 3 ^ y 3 ^ + Not Just Flipped - x s y s - Ooh, Heart! - x s y x a - s + 3 s - (Not a) Square - x 2 / 4 ^ y 2 / 4 ^ + (note: this shape is called a squircle. i think squircles are cool.) Reciprocals - x 10 / r y 10 / r + Square Root! - 40 x * q 40 y * q - (Black) Pitchfork - y x ^ x y ^ - Exponential - 2 x ^ 2 y ^ + Sine! Sine! - 4 x sin y sin + * TANGENT!!!! - 4 x tan y tan + * Combination - 4 x sin y tan + *
