…OoOoOo… In the mystical lands of Crypticraft, you might come across an eerie sight… the Haunted Woodlands! If you dare enter this paranormal forest, you’ll immediately be met with a dense fog and dark, creepy atmosphere, even in broad daylight. Zombies, Skeletons, Spiders, and Witches may lurk here, but you’ll also encounter a few monsters you’ll have to worry more about… BOO!! It’s a Ghost!! Ghosts are spectral mobs that are found exclusively in Haunted Woodlands. While typically uncommon, the chances of a Ghost spawning are greater the more mobs you kill in a day. Ghosts spend their time floating around the woods, and are able to phase through walls. Ghosts don’t actively hunt down players unless they take items from a nearby chest or slay another Ghost or a Ghost Mob, which will make them hostile. Touching or being hurt by a Ghost will inflict the Curse effect, which increases the chances of an undead mob or Ghost Mob spawning near the player. Ghosts cannot be harmed by ordinary weapons, but can be hurt by Phantom Weapons, which are weapons (swords, arrows, spears, etc.) crafted with ectoplasm. When slain, ghosts will drop ectoplasm, which can be used to craft Phantom Weapons, Phantom Armor (protection against Ghosts and Ghost Mobs), and even the Potion of Haunting, which turns entities (except undead mobs) into ghosts, allowing them to phase through walls, float, and be immune to attacks. Ghost Mobs are spectral versions of ordinary mobs. They can take on the appearance of any mob, aside from undead mobs. Regardless of appearance, Ghost Mobs are immediately hostile if they notice the player, and will inflict the Curse effect if touched. Like Ghosts, Ghost Mobs cannot be hurt without Phantom Tools, and will drop ectoplasm when slain. The appearance of Ghost Mobs depends on mobs slain by the player. For example, if a player kills a chicken, they will likely encounter lots of Ghost Chickens within the Haunted Woodlands. The health of a Ghost Mob also depends on their appearance, so Ghost Chickens don’t have much health, fortunately… You may also find Haunted Houses within the woodlands, which are abandoned buildings inhabited by many ghosts. Chests with valuable items inside can be found in these houses, but the residents might not be too fond of you stealing their treasure… Suddenly, a Poltergeist appears! They’re found only in Haunted Houses, and are mischievous spirits containing many items. They’re hostile, and will attack players with their items by either throwing them or using them as weapons. Like other ghosts, they can only be hurt with Phantom Weapons and inflict the Curse effect when touched. Poltergeists can pick up any dropped item, or will steal certain placed items such as already placed vases or paintings. When slain, Poltergeists drop ectoplasm as well as any other items they were carrying. Lastly, throughout the Haunted Woodlands, you may come across will-o'-the-wisps floating about… these mysterious souls will lead you to a trail if you come close enough. But who knows where they’ll take you? Will they lead you out of the woodlands? Will they lead you to a Haunted House full of treasure? Or will they lead you to… your doom…?
