anzac day as the first light paints the morning skies, we remember all the soldiers who died. a bright red poppy worn on our chest, we think of all the people we blessed. in the fields of long ago, where the soldiers had to go. they fought their lives, made sacrifices, but never had made it home. they remind us to be very brave, with all the freedom that they gave. so on this day we bow our head, recite the words 'lest we forget'. the bugle plays along the coast, playing the song of the last post. the tune echoes across the bay, telling us that it's anzac day. lest we forget
small red poppy small red poppy, in the green, quietly so you can be seen. with your black center, red so bright, you saw many a fearful sight.
