Each blow was for someone I’d lost. Each blow was revenge. And each blow felt amazing. It wasn’t often that I felt this kind of rush–it hadn’t been like this since I defeated Calamity Ganon five years ago. The adrenaline coursed through my veins with a passionate fire as I swept through my enemies. I grinned. It can’t be this easy. I wiped the blood from my face and continued to swing my sword. The hordes of bokoblins and lizalfoes didn’t stand a chance, and their heads flew before they could even think about blinking. “That’s all of ‘em!” Riju declared, “Onward!” The sages and I moved forward, through an ominous passage shrouded in gloom. Suddenly, the ground shook, and four immense creatures materialized in front of us; each of these creatures being the ones I and one of the champions had faced and defeated across the four regions of Hyrule. I looked at Sidon. “What do we do?” “You go on ahead, Link,” Mineru advised. “We will stay behind and hold these foes off.” “You can count on us,” Tulin said. I nodded, and I sheathed the Master Sword before racing down the remainder of the passage. I found myself where all of the gloom gathered. A large, spacious room, crawling with demonic magic. It sent shivers up my spine. The Master Sword hummed within its sheath. With each step closer to the northern end of the room I took, it groaned louder, harder. I suddenly worried about Purah. The ground rumbled beneath my feet, almost shaking. My mind then wandered to the sages. They were still back there, fighting for their lives. Like fine grains of sand, they would slip through the fingers of Life in an instant if they made one wrong move, one wrong decision. And it would be my fault. Of course. Everything was my fault. We wouldn’t be in this situation if not for my own foolishness, my own failure. I should never have been appointed as the princess’s “chosen one”. How pointless. It only brought more pain into my existence. It should have been someone else. Someone worthier than I. I let her fall, for shame, I let her fall. I could have caught her, I could have done so much more than I did. I should have k*lled Ganondorf, right then and there. “A hero blaming himself for the world’s fate…” My spiral was interrupted by an all-too familiar, raspy voice. “How unfortunate. How…disappointing.” My head jerked up, and I saw him. My jaw clenched in pure rage. Ganondorf. He was the same as the day he took my arm. I loathed him. He wouldn’t even look me in the eye. I wanted so badly to strangle him; to put my hands around his mummified neck and– “This world should be shrouded in darkness, not bathed in this insufferable light,” the mummy continued. “All these peace-loving creatures, running rampant…” A door composed of gloom sealed behind me. This was it. No turning back now. “It would have been more satisfying to face and overcome a more worthy opponent,” He said. “An opponent who would speak to me. An opponent who would be vain enough to believe he is the greatest hero in Hyrule.” I fought hard to keep my temper in check. For some reason, I couldn’t bring myself to speak. It was happening. I was losing my confidence again. It was just like the Calamity. The mummy looked down at me—really, really looked at me. His eyes bore into my soul, deeper than I knew how to travel myself. He raised his hand, and gloom began to circle and spread around his body. He was engulfed in a relentless fire of toxic magic. The only light visible from within the flames was the eerie glow of Ganondorf’s secret stone. When the foggy gloom dissipated, a sinking feeling settled in my stomach, followed by an immediate sense of nervousness and adrenaline…and power. ଘ(੭´꒳`)°* ੈ‧₊˚ *ᵍᵃˢᵖ* ᶜᵒⁿᵗⁱⁿᵘᵉᵈ ᵇᵉˡᵒʷ! ᶜʰᵉᶜᵏ ⁱᵗ ᵒᵘᵗ!

Adorned with jewelry of pure gold, he smirked, cracking his knuckles. “Regardless, I will reshape this world as it was destined to be. I will rule this land, and crush all those who oppose me.” He retrieved a sheathed sword from the ground, running his finger along the blade’s handle, elegantly wrapped in ashy-red cloth with precision. He then attached the sheath to the belt at his side. “For that is what a king must do.” Ganondorf’s ego disgusted me. The dark magic emanating from him was enough to make me sick. I could vomit. He leapt from the ledge of which he stood, drawing his sword from its sheath. The blade was long, double-edged, and although I couldn’t see it, it dripped with gloom. Too many hits from it would result in a painful death. “Do not look away, knight,” Ganondorf said, looking down the blade of the lethal sword and into my head. “You witness a king’s revival...” I readied myself. “...and the birth of his new world.” I faced him, and I took a good look. I studied him for a moment, calculating my odds before I finally drew the sword from its sheath. I swung it to the side sharply. It illuminated itself with holy light. We raced at each other. The clanging of swords began. zєℓ∂α I must be dreaming. “Sonia…!” I ran into her arms, tears welling in the corners of my eyes. I hugged her tighter–even tighter so, and she did the same. Her hair was still so soft, and she carried the familiar smell of flowers and fresh, spring grass. There was a hint of lavender, mixed with the trace of fresh mint leaves. Sonia chuckled softly, stroking my short, yet tangled bob of hair. She wasn’t wearing her traditional Zonai dress, but a white, sleeveless gown, which was shorter in the front but trailing behind her on the floor. Around the upper-portion of the torso was a golden belt, embellished with the triforce. I recognized this dress from a distant memory–afterall, I should. I wore it for a hundred years. “Oh, Sonia, I…” Sonia smiled, and we parted only enough to see each other’s faces. “Zelda.” “How is this possible…? ☾ ──────── ➷ ───────» ✧ /!\ P0L1CY ᵐʸ ʷʳⁱᵗⁱⁿᵍ ⁱˢ ⁿᵒᵗ ᵗᵒ ᵇᵉ ᵘˢᵉᵈ ᵒʳ ˢᵗᵒˡᵉⁿ ᵇʸ ᵃⁿʸᵒⁿᵉ ʷⁱᵗʰᵒᵘᵗ ᵖᵉʳᵐⁱˢˢⁱᵒⁿ. ⁱᶠ ᴵ ᶠⁱⁿᵈ ᵗʰᵃᵗ ᵃⁿʸᵒⁿᵉ ᵃᵗ ᵃˡˡ ʰᵃˢ ᵇᵉᵉⁿ ᵘˢⁱⁿᵍ ᵐʸ ʷʳⁱᵗⁱⁿᵍ ⁱⁿ ᵃⁿʸʷᵃʸ ʷⁱᵗʰᵒᵘᵗ ᵖʳᵒᵖᵉʳ ᶜʳᵉᵈⁱᵗ, ᴵ ʷⁱˡˡ ⁿᵒᵗ ʰᵉˢⁱᵗᵃᵗᵉ ᵗᵒ ʳᵉᵖᵒʳᵗ ʸᵒᵘ. ᵗʰᵃⁿᵏˢ ᶠᵒʳ ᵘⁿᵈᵉʳˢᵗᵃⁿᵈⁱⁿᵍ! ✉ credits┇ ₍ᐢ⑅ ̥ ̮ ̥ᐢ₎ music ☁ descr ☁ me, @--peace- thumb ☁ me desc font ☁ me ☾ ──────── ➷ ───────» ✧ ⌗ ☄ tags┇ignore ༘° #sneakyWulf2811 #tloz #the #legend #of #zelda #fanfic #fanfiction #chapter #65
