6/2410 Article V of the Treaty of Podeiro Cuidade I states that the Caribbean must aid Brazil in times of need; thus, in response to this unprovoked act of aggression by the PSAE, the Caribbean has joined Brazil’s side. The war would begin with a series of pre-emptive orbital bombardments against the land of the PSAE by the Caribbean satellite network. These would target critical infrastructure such as power grids, industrial centres, military bases and economically productive areas. The orbital bombardments would scale across the PSAE’s territory, including that in North America and Greenland, so as to handicap America’s fighting capabilities before the Caribbean engages in any open combat. Secondly, the naval theatre. The Caribbean boasts a full-strength armada of submarines and carrier ships, having been kept in dock during the war against Atlantica. These would be recalled to the Atlantic Ocean in order to cut off the PSAE’s supply lines to South America. The submarine squadrons are mainly placed along the shores of Brazil, with some others dispersed throughout the Atlantic; they would deny the entry and exit of any American soldiers from Brazil. The Caribbean would also decide to trial a new set of autonomous land vehicles to stage a land invasion of the PSAE from the west. These vehicles would take the form of small, high-tech tanks, with navigational satellite data embedded into them and frequently updated with signals. A layer of thick ionised plasma shielding is trapped within the magnetic field of each tank so that it can resist most conventional methods of attack. The tanks are fitted with heat rays which focus solar energy intensively on a certain point, acting essentially as a sort of laser. Each tank has a small fusion reactor on board to act as an energy reserve in case the tank is rendered unable to collect solar energy. Their small size and specialised gear for travelling through marshes makes them suited to travelling through the thick rainforest of the Amazon. Such autonomous tanks would begin to make a headway into the PSAE’s territory. The area is extremely depopulated due to the inhospitable living conditions and the aftermath of several wars. It was once an inland region of Kurslavian Brazil and one which did not require much military fortification, and so the tanks are not met with much resistance. Minor population centres and resource fields are seized and occupied as the tanks roll across the landscape. The drone-swarms are also recalled from the South American theatre of the war against Atlantica, in which they bombarded Atlantica’s 2 Brazilian ports. They would assist the tanks by providing aerial support and clearing the skies of enemy jets, as well as vaporising Agent Orange gas and other harmful chemical substances in the air with focused heat rays.
