{Setting: Soleanna’s New City, Present Time} The portal would return Silver to the present, reuniting him with Blaze in the square of Soleanna’s New City. Blaze: What did you see? Silver: …the iblis trigger… *grips his hands tightly* …wasn’t Sonic the Hedgehog. Blaze: *speaks calmly, with an oddly knowing sounding tone* I see… Their conversation becomes interrupted by the growing commotion of the people in the city. Silver looks and sees people with worried and fearful looks on their faces, talking to one another in a frantic manner. He attempts to listen, but can’t clearly make out all of their nervous chattering. Silver: They’re quite noisy. Blaze: *steps up beside him* Yes, I heard that the Princess here left for Dr.Eggman’s base in response to his earlier threat. Silver: … ! *his eyes widen in realization, then he turns to Blaze* What if his ultimate objective was to release Iblis? Blaze immediately turns to Silver, unaware of what knowledge he’d been revealed, but upon seeing the look in his eyes, she could tell he was onto something. They both seem to communicate simply through their gazes with one another, share a nod of agreement, then take off together. Later… Sonic the Hedgehog races after Dr.Eggman’s airship, as the Doctor’s flying vessel soars over Kingdom Valley, the ruins of the original Soleanna castle. Dr.Eggman’s robots, a group of Egg Gunners, drop in Sonic’s way in an attempt to stop him, but Silver lands in between them and sends out a wave of psychic energy. The blast destroys the cluster of robots instantly, and their parts fall to the ground. Silver: *turns to Sonic* You look like you’re in a hurry. Sonic: *gives his former attacker a serious and inquiring look* So…what’s going on? Silver: *at first he looks away* …circumstances have changed. *but he turns back with a determined expression as he holds out his hand* I need to rescue the Princess. Sonic: *rests his hands on his hips* … *a bright friendly smile comes over his face and he nods* Sonic hurries onward, giving Silver a thumbs up as he passes him, and Silver nods as well before following along. Together, the two hedgehogs blast through Kingdom Valley, destroying all of Dr.Eggman’s mechs that get in their way. Dashing through old castle ruins, leaping & soaring across the murky waters. When met with a dead end caused by the towering walls, Sonic spots a giant eagle flying close by. It opens up its taloned feet and Sonic jumps to grab a hold, letting the eagle fly him farther into the valley with Silver in tow. Eventually, Sonic notices the ship nose dive and attempts to pick up the pace as Silver and Blaze follow behind, but soon…as they rush to a ledge, they witness the airship crash into the nearby mountains. It explodes into a large blaze of fire, illuminating the valley. Sonic: ELISE! *reaches out* Silver & Blaze: ! *skid to a halt and look out into the distance* Sonic’s hand slowly lowers as shock and sorrow comes over his face. Silver and Blaze both turn away as their heads lower, and Silver sees Sonic drop to his knees out of the corner of his eye. The mournful hero slams his fist to the ground. Silver: *thinks: We didn’t make it in time. I can’t believe she’s…* A faint voice echos in his mind. “Do not lose hope.” Silver: *thinks: But how could we…?* ... ! *his head raises and he turns to Sonic* Wait, there’s still a way to change this! Sonic: … *slowly glances at Silver* Silver: If we return to an earlier point in time…we’ll be able to save her! Sonic: ! … *thinks briefly, then picks himself up to turns to Silver* I understand. Together, Sonic and Silver each bring out a chaos emerald, and raise them towards the sky. Sonic & Silver: Chaos…CONTROL! A portal appears behind Sonic, and he hurries towards it, but quickly does a spin back to Silver. Sonic: Silver! *hurls the chaos emerald* Silver: *catches it* Sonic: I can handle this myself. Besides, you’ve got somewhere to go, right? *smirks at Silver knowingly* Silver: ! *his brow raises in surprise* You... Sonic: I'll make sure to change Elise's fate...and that in turn should change your future too. Silver: ... *nods* Sonic: *grins and gives him a thumbs up* Thank you, Silver. Silver: *awkward small nod* Y-yeah...just...save her. Sonic: *brightly smiles and leaps into the portal* Silver & Blaze watch Sonic vanish into the swirl of light, then share a look, nod, and jump into the portal as well. While the portal takes Sonic into the past before Dr.Eggman's ship had taken flight, it takes Silver and Blaze back to the future, landing them in Flame Core. Dark thundering clouds loom over their heads once again, and the clear air is replaced by smog. Silver holds out the two chaos emeralds with a confident and serious expression, as Blaze stands by his side. Silver: I know how to save our world, now. We don't have to change the past. *brings the emeralds closer* I'm sure of it. Blaze: So you have a plan?
