(“L-l-l-” “You have it my little star, L-Lu,” “Lu-lu-lu-” “Come on little star!” “Lun.” “So close, my darling. We can try again later, ok?” ~~~ Lunar was still blushing when she arrived back at her cabin. The Hunters were finally awake, and getting ready. “Morning.” She said meekly, attempting to hide her blush. “Morn- wait are you blushing?” Thalia asked, eyes wide. “Wha- no! No, definitely not.” Lunar replied quickly while turning away. “She is!” Reyna yelled. All the Hunters were watching her now, and she started blushing more. “Where were you and who were you with?” Reyna asked calmly, though Lunar could tell she was planning something terrifying. “I just went for a walk.” Lunar said, not meeting Reyna’s eyes. “Oh, really? Then why are you blushing?” She asked, raising an eyebrow. “I’m not! It- it was the sun!” Lunar lied. “The sun’s barely out, Lunar. Who were you with?” Thalia this time. “If I tell you, you can’t tell anyone, you can’t confront the person I was with, and you especially can’t tell my mother!” Lunar said, blushing harder. Reyna and Thalia shared a look. “Fine. We swear we won’t. Got that girls?” Thalia said, making sure the other Hunters agreed. Thalia raised her eyebrows at Lunar, silently saying to tell them. Lunar hesitated a moment, then said quietly, “Kai Winters.” They all thought for a moment, but they all drew a blank. “And that is?” Thalia asked, a grimace on her face. Lunar sighed, “He’s an Athena kid. We met on my first day here, and have hung out a few times since.” She said, annoyed. The Hunters all nodded and muttered some form of ‘ok’. “Let’s head to breakfast.” Lunar said, heading out of the cabin. ~ After breakfast, Lunar and the Hunters hung out in the arts and crafts barn. They made charms for their bows. Lunar made one with stars, a moon, and a biscuit. They were all curious about her choices, the moon made sense, but the stars and biscuit not so much. Lunar just smiled and told them that she might explain one day. She tucked it into her pocket, as her bow was in her cabin. Before long, it was time for lunch. At lunch, Thalia and Reyna made Lunar point out Kai. They gave each other a look, at which Lunar was quite confused. It was a look that said, ‘look at this oblivious girl.’ When Lunar asked what the look was for, they waved it off saying ‘nothing’. After lunch, they all went to the training arena for some hand-to-hand. While they were there, Lily joined them. Lunar introduced her to the Hunters, and she and Lily paired together for sparring. Once Reyna whistled for them to start, Lunar and Lily went at each other. They were doing weapon-less combat. Lunar swung a punch at Lily, but she blocked it easily. Lily countered with a kick, but Lunar caught it. They continued with this back and forth for a long while. After what had only felt like half an hour, Thalia told them it was time for dinner. Lunar wiped sweat from her forehead, “Nice one, Lily. You fight well.” Lily nodded her thanks, then the two went their separate ways at dinner. At dinner, Lunar was quiet. She was exhausted, and sweaty. After dinner, she took a shower in the bathroom connected to her cabin. She had offered to let one of the Hunters use it, but they told her that she lived there now, she got dibs on it. It was strange to Lunar, how kind they were. She was used to being told she was less than others, because she didn’t know her mother. That was how it was in Delos, but here, it was much different. It was a nice change for her. After her shower, she flopped down into bed and fell asleep almost immediately. As she was drifting off, she thought about her walk with Kai this morning, how much she enjoyed it, the feel of his hands in hers when she held them, and his smile when she had told him she was there for him if he needed to talk. *Goodness. I have such a crush on him.* Lunar thought as sleep took her.
