Four Swords but as Wings of Fire dragons! I know I wouldn't post here buuut I want to post these here. 1-3. the desgins!! I drew Vio and Shadow in late 2025, made Red and Blue about a month later in early 2026, then forgot about this au for months and made Green and Zelda a few days ago. Blame that for the artstyle inconsistencies. Now onto the design notes! (aka lots of yap) Vio - IceWing, NightWing - Vio can't pass as a non-hybrid, tho he's more IceWing than NightWing. He has IceWing spikes and bodytype (slimmer than in the drawing. this is old), but he has the star patterns NightWings have, and he has mindreading powers. Shadow - NightWing, RainWing - Shadow doesn't have NightWing powers, but he is an animus. He can pass as a NightWing (and has), despite having a RainWing bodytype. He can color shift, has rainwing ruff and horns, but more nightwing like spikes. He also has NightWing wings, and RainWing venom. Blue - SeaWing, IceWing - Blue can pass quite easily as SeaWing, although he has mulitple IceWing traits. His horns are straighter than on most SeawWings, and has long spikes with webs between them on his back. He's also very tall for a seawing, and his claws are quite long. His tail isn't much thinner than most SeaWings, and he can breathe underwater for short periods of time. (his scarf was made by red) Red - MudWing, Skywing - Red has a mudwing build, and can almost pass as such. He has large wings, thick scales and SkyWing spikes, but MudWing horns. Red was born with fireproof scales, and partial firescales. This results in his scales being quite warm, but not hot enough to set things on fire (usually), and he has very powerful fire breath. He can hold his breath for half an hour. Zelda - SandWing, SeaWing - Zelda is mostly a SandWing, but usually does not pass as such. She can tho, but it takes effort. She doesn't have a stinger, nor does she have gills. She does have webs, a sandwing ridge interupted by a few spikes that would be there for webs. Due to being royalty, she has the SeaWing royal pattern. She has all the glowing scales any other seawing would have, and becuase of her SandWing coloring, they glow gold. Green - RainWing, SandWing - Green looks more like a RainWing than like a SandWing. This might be because he's bright green. (he's probably dull to most rainwings tho) He has both a stinger and venom, although both seem to be slightly watered down. He has rainWing ruff, a SandWing ridge and SandWing horns. His tail is long and thin like a RainWings. Aaaand that was my very long yapping about their designs if you came this far you get a cookie lol. The story!! This AU is more than a bunch of designs I'll never use, it's also a story I'll never write. Basically, Links dad, whom I don't have a name for yet, a MudWing, was exiled for some reason, and upon wandering through the rainforest, he found a dying RainWing, who begged him to take her child. The little dragonet was Green, who he then raised as his own son. Later, they met Blue, then Red and also Vio. (order will probably be changed) [Links dad] decides to raise all of them, or at least take care of them best he can. On a visit to the sand kingdom, they meet Zelda, SandWing princess and another hybrid dragon. They stay in touch and become best of friends. Especially Green and Zelda are very close. Shadow was raised in the NightWing kingdom, (probably lost city of the night) although raised might be the wrong word. He would have been thrown away, were it not for the fact that the NightWings discovered his animus magic. He was given to [Ganon] (name to be decided as well), a distant relative of his and another animus. [Ganon] 'raised' Shadow to be a living weapon, and basically made him the dragon he is (close to 'evil' manga persona). [Ganon], who also is very influencial, then convinced the queen to try and take over Pyrrha. The NightWings declared war on the SandWings (due to them being closest lol) and Zelda, was told to wait out the war in the kindom of the Sea, where she meets up with Green/Blue/Red/Vio. Shadow is sent to kill all heirs to the SandWing throne, (leaving the current queen with no heirs), and he manages to kill (at least) one of the princesses. Then, he tries going after Zelda, but he uhh. Fails. Terrified of going back without his mission being complete, he hides out until he has another chance at killing Zelda. When he does so, he is captured by Green/Blue/Red/Vio/Zelda. But they don't know that he has RainWing venom, and Shadow manages to escape. He manages to kidnap Vio, who then forms a bond with Shadow. They become friends and Vio 'joins' Shadow, and Shadow lets him go back so he can give Shadow an oppertunity to complete his misson, but Vio never does this. So Shadow, realising his friend/crush betrayed him, goes back planning to kill them all, and although he almost kills Green and injures Blue, he fails miserably. Hurt, Shadow flees, hiding from everything and everyone. Eventually, Vio finds him, and Vio apologizes, and eventually Shadow starts trusting Vio again. Also they probably start dating here. Ships: Vio and Shadow are dating, Green and Zelda probably end up dating as well, but I don't know about Red and Blue, partially because they were raised by the same dragon. So maybe a Starflight/Sunny situation, or they're just really close. Although I'd also like it if they start dating. (they already have matching scarfs!!!) I don't have the rest of the story fleshed out even a bit, but some things happen and theres Vaati stuff as well (a skywing, probably animus? maybe distant royalty?), but I don't know any of that. Also all of this can still change. Aaaddsadsaaashf longgg post lol. Hopefully I can post the pfp drawing tomorrow or at least somewhere this weekend. (probably can't post it today because I'm waiting for someone to answer and her response might change how I can to post it. This is also a pride drawing and I'm making a thing explaining all identities, but I'm not done with that yet.)
